Also starting over - tore a tendon in my ankle a few years ago after doing so well and everything fell apart. Then dealt with a couple years of illness. Now feeling better, joined 9round, trying to eat better, just hoping it sticks! Would love new friends on here for motivation since I haven't been on here for a few years.

I love lifting as well. Plus, when you don't really feel like working out it's a million times easier to motivate yourself by saying "oh, I'll just lift this heavy thing a few times" instead of "oh I'll just go on the treadmill and hate my life for an hour."

I second this. If it's just a cold, lower your intensity of exercise and drink tons more water, but still work out if you can (obviously if you have a fever or are really not feeling it, then don't exercise.) If you have a GI bug, bronchitis, pneumonia, or anything else like that, then REST.

You should ask your doctor about "vestibular rehabilitation." It's a type of physical therapy that deals with vertigo. At work we refer a ton of people for this and have gotten awesome results. Since it's physical therapy, there's no medication and they could probably give you tips for what to do if vertigo strikes while…

When you add exercise, search from the cardiovascular section. There's a strength training option.

I'm with you! 34-25-40, so pretty darn close! I'm learning to like my shape. I used to be sooooo self-conscious of my hips and thighs but I've learned that I can't change it so I may as well learn to love it. I've been lifting because if my thighs, hips, and butt are going to be big, they may as well be firm :)

I agree with the above - Jillian Michael's workouts are amazing for losing inches. I have the opposite "problem" too where I have not really dropped any weight at all, but I've lost a lot of inches, thanks to the 30 day shred. I think really anything that helps build muscle will in turn help you lose fat and overall become…

I agree with all of the above. There's gyms really close to me but I find that whenever I sign up I go a couple times and then it's just too hard to leave the house. I've been doing Jillian Michael's workout videos and now my husband is getting into lifting, so we're buying a bunch of lifting equipment. It's kind of…

Depending on what your end goals are, you might want to keep going with the lower one and underestimate your calories. However, I agree that calories based off heart rate is going to be more accurate than just based off weight.

I try to wash my hair with shampoo 3 days max but with working out 6 days a week, if I have a workout where I'm dripping sweat even dry shampoo can't save my hair. I work a professional job so having greasy hair or wearing a hat are not options. I found that Herbal Essence has a cleansing conditioner - it's something like…

Always looking for more friends! Started getting back into exercising in the beginning of January and am still going strong. No lbs lost yet, but have lost an inch off my upper arms, an inch off my waist, and a half inch off each thigh. Still looking to trim down and tone up quite a bit.

I love her videos too, especially the barre workouts since I used to be a dancer. I haven't had any success per se, but only because it was hard keeping myself on track so I switched to 30 Day Shred so I had a definitive plan each week.

Do I need to lose weight? No. But I'm about 10 lbs away from being overweight (on BMI scale, which isn't the best measure yada yada), which kind of scares me and I would much rather be in the low to mid range of the healthy weight for my height. Is it also vanity? Sure! I used to be very athletic and my weight naturally…

Yeah, my other thing for asking was because I calculated my BMR and TDEE last night on a couple different sites and they all said my BMR is 1400, so I was wondering if maybe my daily calorie limit should be around 1400-1500? I am pretty tired throughout the day, but it's always hard for me to tell if it's from overworking…

So I actually do work in neurology (I'm a PA) and granted I can't diagnose you without actually talking with you, examining you, etc, I can say that daily headaches happen for a huge amount of reasons so it's often really hard to pinpoint what is going on. The most common cause of daily chronic headaches I see in my…

Yup, Netflix on my iPad. I can't do the treadmill any other way, I swear I have the shortest attention span

Feel free to add me! I'm 25 y/o, 5'6", and 142 lbs, hoping to get to 120ish or whatever it would be with looking toned :) I would love to have more people keeping me accountable :)

Also, as an FYI, Third Shift is actually a MillerCoors beer...their attempt at making something that looks like a craft beer to cash in on how popular microbreweries are now.
-
I LOVE YOU. Craft beer is my weakness and it's so hard for me to not have a beer or two with dinner with my husband. I'm more partial to wheat beers but there's a lot of other good ones on here!

Being so tired in the morning and talking myself out of waking up early to work out Drug reps bringing restaurant food to my work for lunch every single day - it is soooooo hard to turn down free and yummy food! Getting caught up in how tired I am when doing cardio and not pushing myself as much as I should be
-
Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'm gonna keep Friday as a rest day from all working out and then on Mondays decide on cardio vs 30ds based on how I feel. That way I'm getting at least 5 days in each week of it but listening to my body as well.
-
Also, as an FYI for anyone who doesn't have 30 day shred, if you have a device that has youtube on it (playstation, xbox, appletv, etc), the 30 day shred videos are on youtube for FREE :)

I would love to join too! Just finished day 1 today. I started it in the past but only made it a couple days.

Just got my Fitbit One 2 days ago and love it...although I think I'm TOO obsessed with syncing it and seeing how many steps/calories I've done lol. Feel free to add me: http://www.fitbit.com/user/244YJL

I'm 5'6" and my goal weight is around 120. I'm 146 now and within the "healthy weight range" but I'm pear-shaped so my butt and thighs are HUGE now. 120 has always been my goal, but honestly if I'm toned, lose a majority of the cellulite (I can dream lol), and look fit, I don't care what the number is!
-
I'm with all of you. I'm 5'6" and my lowest weight was 119, but this was with barely eating and just being overall unhealthy. I'm 146 now and feel horrible, even though I know it's technically a "healthy weight." I hope to lose 15 lbs by March (trip to Vegas!) and 25 lbs by September (trip to Mexico! It's a busy year ;) ).…

Feel free to add me as well! I definitely could use some people to kick my butt into sticking with it this time :)

Hello! I'm 25 and looking to lose 20-25 lbs. I've been on MFP on and off for the last few years with logging food, but never could keep it up. Despite my periodic attempts to get a fitness regimen, I keep getting distracted, stopping, and gaining weight. I'm hoping this is the time it will stick, so I'm trying to get…

Same here! I always get a new workout video series or have lofty plans about how I'm going to work out all the time and eat healthy but it falls apart after 2 weeks. I'm determined to make it last this time but I know myself and know I'll need a kick in the butt after a week or so :)
