I'm 5'7'' and at this height have pretty much always been between 140-150, though before I starting taking my diet and workouts seriously, I "appeared" to be overweight at 150. I'm 140 lb now and most people believe I've lost 20-40 pounds, when in reality it was only ten at the most. My goal now is not about weight, but…

Whoa there... not all women instantly judge a man on their looks. I've always dated the guys that most girls categorized as "nice guys". I don't look for someone who can provide security, or looks a certain way, but most of the time do look for a sense of humor. Mostly because I know they wouldn't be able to put up with me…

On a normal week I lift 6 days a week, but wouldn't recommend that for anyone just starting out. Three days is usually a good amount, especially if you're working with a trainer. This way you can have one or two days with a trainer and one or two on your own, and give your body enough rest if you're planning on doing full…

Both have their place, in my opinion. The benefit of HIIT is that it can raise your heart rate substantially higher than traditional, steady state cardio. Traditional cardio will improve your endurance more so than HIIT. For weight loss, I agree with the other comments. Do whichever you'd like. Both have pros and cons but…

It helps to realize most of the people there are feeling the same thing. If it's the machines that makes you feel awkward it can help to have someone show you the proper way to use/adjust them and proper form so you feel more confident doing everything. I'm a personal trainer and can still feel awkward at the gym,…

Personally, I'm doing cardio two/three days a week and strength training between five and seven days a week, but I think it's best to do whatever you enjoy! I love lifting, so that's what I do- for a five workout week usually back and biceps one day, chest and triceps another, shoulders and abs, glutes and hamstrings, and…

If it were me, I would eat a big lunch a few hours before, have a banana as a pre workout snack, and eat dinner after the workouts, but in the end it's whatever works for you :)

What they're saying is sort of right. Muscles take 24-48 hours to repair after a workout. Working the same muscles hard everyday can lead to overtraining, which is why many people who workout everyday will split up body parts (because there is a difference between working out everyday and working the same muscles every…
