Yes I do this too. Actually looked this up and what I found was that it means your body is running low on energy. You can either fuel it with food or recharge it with sleep. If you want to lose weight, try a low calorie snack and go to bed earlier.

Well the one I have now has electric tape thats wearing away around the center for starters, it's a little bit beat up lol. But it works (for now). Plus I want something that can be a little more versatile, more weights, and I need a rack.

Im going to find out, I think there will probably be some kind of fee and what have you...

I would love to do that, Ive been reading up on some of the on-line reviews and I found that there was some questionable activity going on at this gym. Some women were being video tapped while tanning and other people were being charged even after discontinuing their memberships, EEK!

No, I got to Blue Moon Fitness
-
HA! I agree, I will just make sure to do those exercises in my home from now on. I never thought I was intimidating anyone, just working out to improve my fitness. Thanks ;)

I know Gold's gym here does not allow deadlifting it may be different in other areas. My husband got out our old bench press bar and weights, I would like to invest in something newer however. Money is a bit tight but eventually, yes, I will have a very nice home gym and won't need a membership to a wimpy gym that only…

Not Planet Fitness, it is Blue Moon Fitness. Gold's Gym has the same policy. Everything else is too far a drive to be worth the effort. And honestly when I signed my contract I didn't even think about lifting weights so I just skimmed over that stuff because at the time it just didn't apply to me.

I am a nurse and a licensed massage therapist, I know all about proper form and good body mechanics, but yeah everyone deadlifts. My own personal trainer from years back loved to work deadlifts into my routine. But I suppose if someone wants to be a jerk and sue the gym for injuring themselves then I can understand…
-
Oh and if you are just beginning it is better to use as little weights to no weights just to make sure you have got the proper form before trying to jump right in and tackle something your body isn't used to. Proper form will be the key to making sure you won't get hurt and you will get the best results from your exercises.

Bravo to you both for really making an effort to lift!!! I love seeing women pushing themselves and their fitness goals and not jet walking on the treadmill for 45 min and call that their workout. It could be a problem with your form and maybe they were just trying to help.... my personal opinion though is that ALOT of…

Thank you for explaining this to me, I'm sorry your friend/coach lost his gym. What a shame!
-
Ack, it was in the ***fine print*** I guess. I just didn't pay attention, so ultimately it was my bad but definitely didn't call for the rude behavior. It was a simple mistake and I know I wasn't the only one who made it. No need to send out the cavalry and burn me at the stake over it.
-
Home gym is in the making!! I have the equipment just not enough space to fit it all in, lol. Summer project is to turn the downstairs office into a weight room. From now on I'll be doing my deadlifts at home though... smh
-
I won't be renewing my membership just from the way I was treated, but I have been asking a few friends and I've heard that other gyms are taking the same stance. So why go to another gym that will take me twice as long to drive to if deadlifts are being banned there as well?
-
Yeah I love to lift and how can one lift without them??? I mean really, it's one of the best exercises out there. Im just really confused why this particular exercise is banned and not others.

Lots of great information and suggestions, thank you so much. I think at once point my TDEE came out to be 1800 a day but my body composition wasn't changing, but back then I was only doing cardio. Some days I eat back my calories, somedays I don't just depends on whether or not I feel hungry? Its tough to say what I am…

Thanks for that info, I will switch my routine around and do HIIT after I lift. I think you are right about needing more protein on your days off to help muscle repair, I don't know why I didn't think of that. That makes sense.
-
I guess my confusion is that my activity level has been increasing each week, so as i increase my strength should I be resetting my nutritional settings each week as well/ Also I have no problem getting enough healthy fats, I love avocados and coconut oil and olive oil. But with the protein, I'm not sure exactly what i…

I'm 5'8" and weight 167, but I am muscular. Granted I am not "cut" but I wear a size 7/8, which isn't half bad for someone my height. 2 years ago I was 150lbs after I had my son and I wore a size 9/10. So more weight but less density. I don't care WHAT my scale says anymore, I only care about how my clothes fit.

I am in the same boat as you are. I just began lifting 2 weeks ago. Right now I've only been using 10-15lb weights, but I do believe I'm ready to graduate to 20lb weights this week. I think making sure you are using proper form is more important than starting out heavy. Use whatever weight you feel comfortable with while…
