being nervous is natural. I've done 3 races and i still get nervous days before or the day of. take lots of pictures and live in the moment.

at the beginning my diet I was very strict and I didn't allow myself any treats. my will power was made of steel. my weight loss was so rapid that after 5 weeks, I lost the weight that I wanted to lose and still kept losing. i do so much cardio that i can now eat whatever i want, but i do try to make healthier choices.

3 guys walk into a bar and the 4th one ducks! Yeeee!

i am willing to take them off your hands. send them to Kansas City, MO. you keep eating clean, send them all to me if you like.

i have a piece of toast with all natural peant butter on it (almost 200 calories) during training and on race days. i once had some oatmeal with blueberies and walnuts on top of the toast and PB during a 4 mile race and my stomach didn't react well after the race. i run 4 miles all the time but not hard like on race day.

Thanks for the post. I run and bike alone and I'm in the process of getting a road i.d. be careful out there!

run and run some more!

I really don't have any, but I recently went to eating Egg Beater's egg whites versus cracking an egg for the whites and throwing away the yolk. Everyday is a cheat day for me.

I have Zone bars and Sunbelt Bakery granola bars in my desk drawer. When I'm not in a hurry I go to Haagen Dazs icre cream bars, peanut M&M's or a Snicker's mini (or two).

this bag of peanut M&M's! Yeeee!

oatmeal w/blueberries, walnuts and banana.

I agree with the above. the best shoes are the shoes that work best for you. that being said, I've worn Mizuno's and I found that they tend to wear out fast; however, they are light, stylish and have more of a natural feel, but my feet also tend to hurt. I just bought some Asics Nimbus 15 and those feel pretty good,…

Carbs are your friend! your body needs carbs as much as it needs the other macro (and micro) nutrients. I eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies so I always seem to go over my carbs. go for it. don't be scured!

Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)

I don't care for the inserts because they take some getting used to and they push my foot forward and my foot sits higher in the shoe. I almost have to get a half size bigger to account for the orthotic shoe inserts. I have high arches and that was the reason the podiatrist recommended the inserts. I'm in a neutral shoe so…

I buy my Mizuno's from a running store for about $115. I have bought the same shoe online for about $15-$20 cheaper. I currently have 2 pairs of Mizuno's, but they tend to break down easily so I'm considering the Brooks Glycerin for $150.

I personally don't do that, but a couple of co-workers do. I also don't like people at work clipping/filing their nails and it's gone as far as people coming their hair or brushing their beard/goatee's in meetings. I work for the Federal government and we are not supposed to wear jeans unless it's on a Friday, but we are…

i haven't, but my kid has.

those numbers seem way high to me. everyone's burn rate is different. I walked 3.15 miles yesterday and my HRM said I burned 307 calories. the routes I take are a bit hilly. you need to get a HRM ASAP for accurate numbers for your weight and fitness level. good luck.

my thoughts exactly. I've even had some idiots swerve my way when running or biking. people need to be more kind out there!

I lost the weight I wanted to lose in about 5 weeks. I kept losing; however, and now i'm hoping to add about 10-12 pounds of muscle. I've been on mfp for 300+ days, but my diet isn't as strict anymore.

Wow! nice job! nice metal too.

I didn't know it was National Donut Day until I was already at work; otherwise, I would have! I will have one tomorrow morning.

I don't know about "life purpose," but I plan on always being there for my babies (2 boys). some of my goals are to run a triathlon, a quintathlon and maybe a marathon. i'm THINKING of running the Grand Canyon in 1-day. i'm also THINKING of biking the Katy Trail in 1-day. I plan on lifting heavy and gain about 12 pounds. I…

I had chipotle for lunch. Burrito bowl: chicken, brown rice, black beans, veggies, green salsa, cheese and lettuce. I brought it back and topped it off with 75 grams of avocado (765 calories). I plan on having a banana and watermelon as snacks. For dinner i'll be having Tilapia, brown rice, Birdseye steamed veggies and a…

nothing crazy like that. I guess i'm boring, but I do plan on running a Triathlon, which includes swimming, biking and running.

shake if off. eat a sensible lunch and dinner and get back on track throughout the week.

don't worry about time. you do your thing and go at your own pace. it's normal to be nervous before a race. I still get nervous days leading up to the race. once you are at the actual race, it's a whole new vibe. enjoy the race and enjoy your training runs. good luck.

oh, dang! i'm having some outpatient surgery tomorrow. would like to start back-up, but can't. good luck.

good stuff. I just posted your story on my FB page hoping it'll help someone. congratulations and keep it up.
