Place a bottle of water next to your bed, and every morning when you wake up drink 2 cups of water. That way you can't weigh yourself because you know that the scales will be thrown off from the water weight and won't be accurate, and you get the added bonus of 2 glasses of water first thing in the morning which has many…

Bump! Got my wisdom teeth out today and google led me to this thread... Some great ideas!!

bump! i'm getting mine out in a month, really curious about this too! So far I've thought of yoghurt, ice cream, mashed potato/sweet potato and my friend said salmon is easy to flake off and eat when its cooked? best of luck!

I'm from Australia too :) Just divide kj by 4.2 on your phone or something - it's a pretty easy conversion. A lot of Australian foods are listed in the MFP database already anyway though, you just need to search them.

hot cross buns and vegemite... HAHA! any Australians will understand just how weird this is...

Sometimes having a big day after a lot of restricted calorie days in a row can actually spike your metabolism. I went over my calories last night for the first time in ages and have seen a big drop on the scales this morning.. also, embrace it! You'll probably wake up with more energy tomorrow morning and won't feel as…

I couldn't agree more! Just today in the UK a 17 year old girl lost her battle with anorexia after obsessive calorie counting, dieting, over exercising etc it was in the Australian headlines today... And she seemed to have everything going for her. It literally breaks my heart this stuff and I hope those on MFP who…

I'm on an amazing recovery program at the moment it's completely removed the binge purge cycle from my life and it's so easy. I haven't looked back at all and haven't put on a pound whilst recovering... In fact it's been easier than ever to lose weight ! Feel free to add me if you need any support I know how tough it can…

Wow that car thing is incredible!! It definitely must be some psychological thing. When the first one did it I couldn't believe it I was too shocked to think of moving or saying anything. 5 minutes later when the second one came along I thought it must have been some new trend I was missing out on!!

when you put it on such a high incline are you grasping onto the treadmill for dear life? (I see ladies at my gym doing this!). I think if a high incline means you have to hold tightly onto the machine, you're probably not getting the full benefits of the incline because it's not as hard as if you weren't holding on and…

thankyou for all the words of wisdom everyone!!! I agree, I enjoy having cheat days even if I don't exactly plan for them. To the couple of ladies who said i ought to eat more, don't worry I do still tend to eat 1200+ i'm just not a very accurate logger so don't log things like olive oil to cook in etc which add up!

Wow thanks for that post... That's actually really cool not to mention motivating! I wonder if anyone else has experienced this firsthand? Would love it to be true haha!
-
i like this philosophy :)
-
haha it wasn't THAT bad... just a couple of handfuls of dried fruit and some jellybeans probably put me over by 200-300 cals?
-
Ughh If i wasn't studying frantically for an exam tomorrow I would totally do that!!
-
This happened to me last week! I was too scared to up my calorie intake as suggested by some, so instead I amped up the cardio workouts and really watched my sodium intake (kept it below 1500) and drank extra water/ ate more fiber... it worked for me :)

This might be a silly question, but what's your reason behind doing this? I thought lean meat protein was good for weight loss?
-
I'm 5'5.5 haha... my goal weight is aroundd 110 but I have quite a small frame!
-
I'm about 5'6 too and I used to have a few bulimic tendencies. I was never diagnosed with anything but I certainly had a pretty unhealthy outlook on food for a while. Welcome and would love to help you out :) xxx

50-80g.. i don't like eating a lot of meat and sometimes it's quite tough to get in!

thanks hun, a lovely lady just offered to help me out so invite no longer required! What's your page called though, I'll follow you :)

I have this problem too! I'm at least doubling the sugar I should be eating every day and that's only from fruit veggies and greek yoghurt most of the time :( Some sugar free options I've found: nuts, peanut butter, cheese, sugar free jello, rice cake, eggs, avocado Also substitute adding honey/sugar/syrup with adding…

welcome! :) trust me the addiction is only going to get stronger!!!
-
I'm at university too and find it really difficult to keep studying late at night without a snack... I've found that cut up veggies, sugar free jello, 85% dark chocolate and lots of tea help stave off the hunger after dinner without adding very many calories at all :)
-
In terms of creating a calorie deficit I don't think it matters when you work out :) If I can I'd prefer to exercise in the morning as I find getting all hot and sweaty makes me feel less like eating and it wakes you up in the morning!

this is probably the least intelligent thing to be written in this entire post, but to those advocating eating back your exercise calories- what is the point in exercising FOR WEIGHTLOSS if it should yield the same result as just eating less? i.e. if you're full when you eat 1200 calories, why would you exercise on top of…
