Thanks that's all really helpful! I was just wondering if there WAS a difference between M and F but if it's a pink tax, I'll take whatever haha. Yes it's for more than muscle definition per se - to boost my overall protein intake as I can't always meet my macros by just eating protein, and also muscle repair etc. The…

Thanks - that's great info  I'm really enjoying training hard, so it stands to reason that I am naturally hungrier. I cook from scratch all the time (always have) but have really upped how much attention I pay to protein. Contemplating getting a supplement but unsure whether whey or casein is the best option and…

Tuna and sweetcorn fishcakes made with sweet potato, served with a bistro salad with beetroot and some added sugardrop tomatoes and half an avocado. Dressing is a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic glaze

Ah I see - I'll have a go at this. When you say work the recomp, what exactly does that entail? Sorry for the questions just want to make sure I get things accurate.

Thanks - I will do. It's a great bonus knowing I can and should eat those back, whilst upping my overall calories. I think that's the mistake I've made in the past, not lifting heavy and eating too much of a deficit so that the only thing that ever happened was that I was 'skinny fat' which is absolutely what I DON'T want.…

Thanks guys both those posts are really helpful. I'll certainly check out some of the reading material. I'll also post some photos tomorrow when I'm on the computer. There's plenty for me to think about but the 3 day full body program idea sounds like it'd fit in really well with my other commitments. Thanks for the advice…

Thanks - my body fat % was measured in the gym on a machine so I'm not sure if that's accurate or not. It sounds off to me, but there again does it take into account boobs etc? I'm quite busty haha. Calorie wise again I'm unsure. I suppose I'd rather gain muscle and so weights do sound a good option for me. I do like…

Hi all I've been signposted to this thread as I'm at a bit of a dead end weight loss wise. Well, I say dead end - I'm just unsure what I need to be doing. My stats are: Age: 30 Sex: F Height: 5'4'' Weight: 58kg/127lb Body fat: 35.2% BMI: 22 So as you can see my BMI is in the healthy range but my body fat % is waaaaaaaay…

Hi - thanks for that, that's exactly what I need! Will do much more reading on this and then adjust accordingly :)

Ok I'll change my settings and go from there. I used a weighing scale/body fat machine in the gym. Measures height, weight, BMI, body fat % - not sure how reliable it is. I was a bit shocked to be honest when I saw the body fat % as I didn't think I was overweight (which I'm not), I just need to tone up and get fit. My…

Surely this is only regurgitating (and charging for) knowing what we've always known for hundreds of years? Prior to the industrial revolution and the evolution of processing, canning and other methods of food preservation and development; we always ate foods which were fibre-rich and by proxy unprocessed. Grains were in…

Hi great, will do. Clean eating is basically eating whole foods, rather than processed packaged foods. It's making meals from scratch with real ingredients in essence. I think it's become a 'thing' recently (think Clean Eating Alice amongst others championing it), but I've always eaten this way. I just thought with it…

Hi nice to meet you - I'm a bit of a gym junkie myself and I do like things like crossfit, circuits and body combat. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm also a real food lover... spend a lot of time in the kitchen and generally enjoying food!

Ah I see what you're saying - I should say it's body fat % that I want to lose which is why my goal is set to that... although not sure how I'd lose that without losing weight? Although my BMI is 22 my body fat % is 35% which is really rubbish...
-
Hey thanks for the add  - yep I've always done clean eating, I think only recently it's got more attention as a way of eating all the time.

Hi I log everything except water - I drink over the recommended amount so don't really see the point. I don't weight EVERYTHING, but I do weigh most things or look at the weight on the pack and log the amount I've used/eaten and put my own recipes into MFP to make things a bit easier, like I did with the soups etc. 3x3 was…

I'm aware of that - but I'd rather put decent, whole foods into my body than a load of processed junk!

Thanks that's really helpful, I'll look at my settings, adjust accordingly and go from there

Thanks guys that's great advice - yep I think I need to up my total intake as if I'm hungry, it's obviously for a reason! I don't believe in diet pills myself per se, but he wants to get a quick start as has more to lose. Each to their own! I might up the fats a bit, see if that increases satiety. I used to eat a lot of…

Thanks that's helpful - I just always wonder about quantities because I'm always hungry! I don't know whether to put that down to increased exercise or just my brain telling me I should be eating more. My friend and I have joined the same gym and he doesn't seem to get half as hungry as me, although he is taking…

My goal really is to lose around 7lb but to lose body fat % as although my BMI is healthy, my body fat % is high. It's just confusing and I feel like I'm eating loads!

Yeah I'd love some new friends! I'm a mum of a 6 month old and desperate to get my pre-baby body back! :)
-
Hey everyone! I've got a 6 month old son and trying to shift the baby weight! I'll put my hands up and say it's not been my main priority as we've had loads going on at the moment, but I'm ready to focus on this now and could really use a few friends to help and advise me along the way and I'm happy to support everyone's…

@mygynsac - how do you do the black eyed peas? They look delish!

Hi thanks so much for the reply! That's a good idea looking on youtube for some exercises to do at home. I'm usually out and about with the pram daily, so I will work that in too. Regarding meals, I wouldn't incorporate my partners meal because he is a chef and doesn't get in till gone midnight - too late for me to eat!…

BUMP - must add recipes soon!

Hi Thanks everyone :) To the person who was talking about birth control yes we were using it, so of course it was a surprise. Also being told by my doctor I'd be unlikely to get pregnant anyway due to food allergies really messing me up internally it was doubly so. So yes I'm well versed in sex education but thanks for the…

Hi I'm new here - and very new to being pregnant as it's totally unplanned and my first. Nonetheless I'm excited but overwhelmed. I'm guessing I'll be due in May (mid to end) but my dates are a bit fuzzy... I really need a dating scan but the test showed 5+ weeks and so with a bit of estimation I think I'm around 7 weeks.…

BUMP - Amazing thread guys, I'd also love the salmon negamaki recipe if possible and also the osso buco? Also wondering if people can help. I used to upload photos from Flikr all the time on here, but since they changed the format I've not yet been able to suss out how to do it? Any ideas if it's still possible to do that…
