So happy for you. You're amazing.

You look like a different person. Thank you for sharing and for summarizing at the end. Exactly what I needed to hear tonight.

WOW! No sympathy... and I love it. You're right. There is nothing but the future. I used to have a mantra when marathon training: "It just doesn't matter." When I have a pebble in my shoe running -- it just doesn't matter. It's raining -- it just doesn't matter. And this latest thing: my pity party -- it just doesn't…

Another C to 5k'er here. I am on week 4. I go out early to avoid the worst of the heat like so many others. I did the program 8 years ago and went on to run 5Ks, 5 milers, 10 milers, and a marathon! (I then hung up my shoes and gained 50 lbs :-) Add me so we can cheer each other on!

You look fantastic! What strikes me is how much smaller you are over all. If you look at the amount of skin (not fat, just bod area) around your red suit top in the first photo compared to how much less there is of the area -- it's amazing! Congratulations.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!!

Post some progress pics. I cannot imagine being 31lbs down and not feeling on top of the world! What gives?

I think you've done it. You've inspired a whole bunch of us who are unsure but somehow hoping we can do it. Thank you for posting about how simple it can be. One little step at a time... You look really great.

WOW OH WOW! So glad you updated again -- I am new here and wouldn't have otherwise seen you... and you're so inspirational, so thank you!

I think you will ind the gamut of replies here because every level of runner is represented. If you're new to running, you should allow at least a day in between each run for recovery. So where are you on your running road?

I agree with others -- way too hard on yourself. The difference is outstanding. You are doing a really fabulous job, don't talk yourself out of that fact!

Thank you for taking the time to reply... and what a perfect response. Makes complete sense (of course) and is exactly what I was after! Guess I wasn't expecting that so quickly, so thanks.

Ok, that worked :-) At the end of May 2013, I made a deal with myself. If I did everything right for THREE SOLID MONTHS and didn't lose 20 lbs, I would get the sleeve weight loss surgery. Over the last seven years I have only gained weight. Completely unable to lose and with dieting and exercising. I was beginning to think…

Hi Renee, I started May 30th with the goal of 20 lbs by August 31, 2013 (thus my log in name). I, too, am SERIOUS THIS TIME! I am soon to be 47 and I have been fighting this battle my entire adult life. There have been times when I was at my goal weight and running regularly, but the last time was 8 years ago. So, consider…
