By netting between these numbers, pax means: calories consumed (stuff you eat and drink) - calories burned (exercise) = Net calories. MFP works this out for you on your news feed page. So if you'd eaten 1200 calories during the day and exercised 300 away, you'd only be netting 900 calories, which isn't enough for anyone!

Because MFP has already calculated your calorie goal for you to lose weight anyway? Remember, if you've set up MFP to lose 1lb a week then if you eat at your calorie goal, you will lose weight even if you don't do any exercise at all!

NicNac is a nickname from when I was a kid ( my real name is Nicola). It comes from a nursery rhyme (This old man, he played one... NicNac paddy whack, give a dog a bone) and it's stuck with me. I use this username a lot and 86 is the year I was born :)

At the top of the page, go to 'Tools', then go to 'BMI'. It should already have your current height and weight in the boxes. Just click 'calculate', and it should tell you where you are now in the range, and what your 'ideal' weight range is. BMI is a good indicator, but it's no good for shorties like me (5ft 1).

This is a My Fitness Pal forum. People wouldn't have joined MFP/be posting in the forum if they didn't have some kind of 'problem' with food, one way or another. Haha, exactly! so 1 sq inch of muscle would weigh more than 1 sq inch of fat, thanks! As above, more volume of fat, less volume of muscle. Edit: as muscle's denser (as above), that makes complete sense!

Surely going by your own story, muscle weights more than fat. If your weight is staying the same, but your clothes are getting bigger on you (ie you're getting smaller), then your frame is smaller but you still weigh the same.
