  • Haha - yup! And Chef Boyardee, Cheese Wiz, Fruity Pebbles, Frosted Flakes, and other things not so good for me...
  • So if you can't trust a nutritionist or personal trainer, how do you figure out what works best? I haven't read the article you provided, but it seems like we shouldn't have to do this on our own....
  • Sorry about that - my phone died midstream and thought it hadn't posted. Trying to delete....
  • Thanks for the tip. No need to be a jerk about it though. Why can't you provide the suggestion without the digg?
  • Rice and white flour are not healthy options in that they do digest quickly and spike insulin/blood sugar levels. It is good to avoid them. But if you can't live without white rice, limit your intake and when you do eat it, also eat vegetables to help keep your blood sugar more level. As for "clean eating"... it is eating…
  • Kathi - well said! There are many types of anti-depressants out there, and finding the right one takes time. Eat healthy no matter what. If you feel hungry trying to restrict calories after the first 2 weeks, then you might not be eating the right foods. Veggies, beans, oatmeal and grains like Quinoa are very filling and…
  • Wow - so you had a little setback....stay strong! Goodluck!
  • The question is: "Which leads me to the discussion, what's the worst thing you've eaten since the change in lifestyle?" So whether you are "dieting" or have changed your lifestyle, it is still a valid questions. I would find it rare if someone out there said they haven't eaten something not good for them. Fries? Fried ice…
  • Hi. I know everyone loses weight differently, but I feel your pain. I have found that a calorie is NOT a calorie and nutrition is important. I can eat more food when I eat vegetables, fruits and beans, and end up eating less and feeling hungrier when I consume grains. I cut way back on grains and dairy, and it has made…
  • I've found New York & Co. to have jeans that flatter not flatten my rear and fit nicely through the thigh. I always bought Lucky, Levi's, and J.Crew brand, but the styles don't fit me anymore. Good luck!
  • I switched out my chair for a large exercise ball. It has helped with my core strength and I can bounce on it when noone is looking! You can build up to sitting it on it all day, one hour at a time. But I do agree that it is better to get up from your desk and do laps around the office (take the long way to the bathroom or…
  • I feel like my weight loss has been a constant struggle over the past 2 years. I eat well generally speaking but definitely needed to do better with the amount of vegetables and fruit. I also needed to do more exercise. So, 2 years ago, I hired a trainer with whom I worked out 3x/week for 1 month doing interval training…
  • How much are you exercising, though? Must be a lot.
  • I just joined and I am having a hard time meeting the calorie goals. I am sure it'll take a couple weeks to get the balance right of calories vs. fat and protein, etc. My "goal" is 1400 if no exercise. I was taking in about 1200-1300. Now, I've relaized that I need to have more fresh veggies and fruits on hand to snack…
  • That is commitment! Great job - you look amazing. Goes to show us that it is a journey not a quick trip. Congratulations!!
  • Wow! You look great! I hope for similar results...20lbs less than now. Thanks for sharing.
