  • OMG! I am in North Chesterfield, too. Where do you live? I can totally share recipes. Maybe we can get together for a raw food meal sometime.
  • Where are you in VA? I am in Richmond. I do a lot of raw cuisine and use the dehydrator quite a lot. The last time I fired it up I used all nine trays and made a pile of flaxseed crackers and raw cheeze-its.
  • Sorry you have so many issues. I am on 40 mg Nexium in the am and 40 mg protonix in pm and depending on what I eat I STILL have reflux. I can't imagine gastritis and IBS on top of that.... :(
  • I don't have a gall bladder, and I eat just about any **** thing I want. I have more problems with the acid reflux than I ever had after I had my gall bladder out. Which was a relief, since before my cholecystectomy, I was having horrible pain and puking a lot...
  • OMG! THAT is WORSE! Addendum: OMG. I have been about 50% raw vegan for about a month, counting calories (but not necessarily staying in the goal range every day) and exercising at least 4 times a week for the past month, except the first week when I only went twice, and last week when I hurt my foot and could only go…
  • Cool! You can put meat on this one... I have a raw vegan pizza recipe that is about 553 cal per serving depending how large you make the pizza crusts.
  • Sounds like success to me.
  • With respect to horseback riding, I love that verb, "ride." It implies that you sit and are passively carried along. NOT!
  • I just posted this on my Facebook. It will give you some idea of the past five years I've had. "I cannot even TELL you how NICE it is to have two weeks put together that DON'T FEEL LIKE CRAP. For once, for once, for ONCE: 1.) Nobody's DYING. 2.) Nobody's in the hospital. 3.) Nobody needs a ride to visit somebody in the…
  • AMEN. I mean...do you realize that's close to a pound a day?? Most people say not to lose more than two pounds a WEEK.
  • You should be able to see my diary. I make a lot of raw vegan food, so it may look a little funny.
  • The Y is cheap and has more weights than you will ever be able to afford at home. PS, I wonder what it is that people think they are supposed to look like, anyway? When I was 20 years old, running 20 miles a week and in the best shape of my life, and right in the middle of healthy BMI, I got disgusted and quit because I…
  • You know, a pound a week isn't bad. It really, really isn't. It took a long time to get this way and it's going to take a long time to reverse. If you are losing more than 2 lbs a week you are probably doing something that isn't healthy and isn't sustainable.
  • I have found that for many, many things we enjoy, the same thing can be made raw vegan. The taste is very similar but because the food is raw you fill up faster.
  • I have only done raw vegan. I find that if I am 50-75% raw and exercise 45 minutes 4-5 days a week, weight comes off! and especially inches. I don't have to usually defend the lifestyle as I save that 25% cooked/not vegan option for when I am with others and want to eat what they are eating.
  • Most people look too fat in pictures. That is why working models have to be 6ft or very close and 20 lbs medically underweight...and THEN they get photoshopped. Don't go by photos...they will always make you depressed...
  • I went on a diet in high school and starved myself down to 117. And I do mean starved. I was SO hungry at the end of the day I didn't know what to do. In college I started running 20 miles a week and watching every little bite I ate. I mean if I liked it, I couldn't eat it. :( I got down to 135 lbs, my pants were a size 8,…
