Laugh at this disastrous morning
So here was my morning: Get dressed to go to doctor's office and mall. Get in car. Realize I have a big RIP in my pants. But I love these pants. They are silk, made from pieced-together Indian saris, and the colors and patterns are beautiful. They fit me. I could not resist them. I paid like $150 for them.
Go back into house, proceed to sew rip. (I had been looking forward to wearing these for days.) Whilst sewing, notice another small rip. While turning pants to inspect that, note that this is just weak, flimsy, creepy-crawly fabric that is coming apart at ALL THE SEAMS. These are pieced together from saris..there are literally seams ALL OVER the pants. And they are all coming apart. I have only worn these once. Haven't even tried to launder them.
Realize there is no way I can fix all these seams, and I have thrown away sales slip. Tear $150 silk pants up to make scarves and headbands.
Change clothes. On one happy note, I try on pants I was previously too big for and find I can wear them! A whole dress size smaller than I previously could wear.
Go out to car and find that, in my extreme dismay at going out with a huge RIP in my pants, I have locked my keys in the car.
Thank heaven for a spare pair in the house.
Glad to say it got better from there...Oh, PS, I bought wide calf boots like six years ago that my legs were too big for and I never returned them, hoping that one day...Wore them out to dinner last night!!!!

I once bought a pair of expensive designer jeans and wore them out to the casino. I squatted down to dig something out of my purse and they spilt!!! There was no where to hide! I had on a tank top so couldn't just wrap a jacket around the butt area or pull the shirt down really low. There was nothing I could do about it except run to the nearest bathroom. I then was going to call a friend and have them come bring me a jacket or something to wrap around myself.
Then I realized I left my cell phone in the car!!! I had no choice but to swallow my pride and walk threw the casino with my butt showing. ( had on thong underwear so yes, the butt area was showing!!)
When I finally reached my car, I found a pair of gym pants in my gym bag so I was able to change there in the car.0 -
OMG! THAT is WORSE!
Addendum:
OMG.
I have been about 50% raw vegan for about a month, counting calories (but not necessarily staying in the goal range every day) and exercising at least 4 times a week for the past month, except the first week when I only went twice, and last week when I hurt my foot and could only go twice.
Last spring Coldwater Creek went out of business and I went in to see the picked over sale stuff. Now, the time before that, they had these BEAUTIFUL spandexy, stretchy jeans I wanted, but had to leave them on the rack because they were out of my size. I went in the Out Of Business sale, and there these same jeans were again. Only $29.00. I tried them on. Could actually zip them, but they were so uncomfortable I really wouldn't want to wear them. I bought them because they were the only pair left, the same pair I tried and couldn't zip up before, and they had waited for me. And they were only $29.00.
So my pants ripped today, and I needed something to wear that would go with the other stuff I was wearing. Reached for these pants. They fit. Wore them all day.
So tonight I'm taking them off, and my eyes fall upon this beautiful beaded pair of jeans in my closet that I outgrew some time ago, but couldn't bear to give away because I just love them so much. These jeans are real JEANS jeans...not stretchy like today's pair. Could I wear them?? They are one of the smallest pairs in my closet right now.
I CAN WEAR THEM.
