I definitely throw away the outer leaves as they look the most banged up/dirty/just all around undesirable.

I couldn't successfully completely the Paleo diet for a full week. I have to have carbs as like you I like pancakes and coffee creamer way too much. IIFYM is the way I eat. I still get to have the things I want but there is a level of discipline built in that doesn't allow me to gorge myself to 500 pounds. I also seem to…

For me, it's protein and fat. If I have just carbs, I'm ravenous all day long. As long as I have protein and/or fat at each meal (including snacks), I'm more full, focused and energized.

Been there, still here. I decided to stop getting more depressed and upset by wearing the way too tight clothing. I made the decision to spend $150 on things I can wear right now and anytime I'm at the mall, I do not buy anything. The clothing I have in my closet that I refuse to give away and the items in the mall are my…

I've done both. I prefer the camaraderie of the gym as I just seem more motivated. But since relocating my complex has a nice gym and the fact that I wake up at 415/430 and just have to walk, as opposed to driving 10 mins, to it I'm in there.

Absolutely fabulous story. You are glowing in your after pic. The bullet points/lessons learned are invaluable not just for you but also people like me still on the journey to goal.

Have your wine. Just work it into your calories after you've eaten your healthy/normal foods for the day. That way you can adjust your serving.

Try not to focus on the weight you have to lose. Once I began to think in terms of making decisions that are healthier for my overall body, the weight loss came naturally. For example, I am a bread/sugar addict but I noticed when I overindulge in wheat/sugar products my eczema flares up terribly and takes at least 2-3…

First off great job on losing 9 lbs. You look awesome. How do you feel? Is there a particular reason you are trying to get to 115? Looks and a number on the scale aren't everything. Let your goal be to live comfortably at a healthy weight that you can sustain long term.

Getting in five days of exercise this week.

For me, bread is the trigger that leads me down the path of carb-no return. I think that when you eat sugar/lots of processed carbs (which are already loaded with a ton of calories), you end up overeating because your body is still hungry for food.

So wonderful. Your race photo is nice, that they caught you mid stride.

I love my fitbook. I bought atTarget. It's 12 weeks of strength cardio and food journaling.

I am hoping this is just his "ignorance" showing and hes not being malicious. At any rate, I would let him know that while you are aware of his opinion, you do not feel it necessary to discuss your weight loss with him. It's a private matter. If that doesn't work, try to avoid any situation that would warrant this personal…

Lol. Great analogy. I am one of those people...throw away the whole day (which more often than not turns into a whole week) because I didn't eat/workout "perfectly". What I am learning is, nothing is ever going to be perfect. Which is great because that's the only way I can the the lessons about me and how I act/react in…

Isn't it nice when what once was a challenge, now you can do with ease. Congratulations and keep up the good job.

Congrats. Definitely pick another small goal and tackle it.

You're inspiring me. What a great job. And it could definitely be the muscle toning.
-
That's awesome. I too find working out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning provide my best results.
-
You look fabulous. I too needed the motivation since I tend to seek comfort in eating as well.

To run a full 5k without stopping or walking and to journal all my food everyday. Trying not to focus on the pounds.
-
There is NO way you're 55. You look 25 in your smaller picture. Great work and what an inspiration. You're right when we stick to the program, it works.

This is all great advice. Definitely run by how you feel. Sometimes a 1 mile run will feel like a 5k depending on how hot it is. Also, I too run with a camelbak or with a belt with frozen water bottles. It helps with hydration and placing the cold bottle on my neck from time to time. Lastly, give it a few weeks and you…

For me, it's definitely upping my intake of fats (avocado, nuts, coconut oil) and protein.

You do look amazing. Depending on which veggies you're eating, you could be experiencing bloating. I would definitely do a hybrid of insanity/some form of cardio and weight training (would be my main focus).

Either ThinkThin or Rise (Sprout's Farmers Market)

The weekend is typically when I go off the rails as well.

Never thought of this. Am definitely going to try this. Thanks for the idea.

What are you doing for workouts at home? If what you're doing is not effective to you try locating some videos on youtube or sign up for spartan type WODs that may push you a little further. I would suggest just getting into the habit of waking at whatever time is necessary to make it to the gym by 6am. I think once your…

Great job. You're absolutely correct. When focused, success is practically guaranteed.
