Good point. I wouldn't want to mess with evolution. But dead squirrels at a daycare might also be a bad thing.

I can't tell if the squirrels are in a food coma from too many pb2 oats or if suffering from the heat.

I take a knee high sock and cut the foot part off. Then I put it on my forearm. I use it to wipe snot off my face after doing the whole snot rocket thing. Or if people are around I just wipe my nose on the cut up sock all slightly more ladylike-ish. And now that it is hot outside, the snot arm band doubles as a sweat…

I can't see all the pics but in the ones I can see, you look smaller now. And perhaps knowing that mathematically I should have gained 34ish pounds with my 8 weeks of overeating but only gained 12 will comfort you a little. The math doesn't always add up. Just keep focusing on staying in your goal and lifting and doing…

Yay! Congrats! You did it! What a great story!!! You totally need to wear your medal for the next week at least!!

This is very true. But sometimes there are people who won't do well in shoes that even the most knowledgeable person would recommend. The shoe store people at the store I go to are very knowledgeable and are all long distance runners. They recommended shoes with padding for me but I guess because I spent the first couple…

Also, try to find a store that will allow you to return shoes even if they have been worn. The running store I go to gives you a month to try out a pair of shoes and return them if they don't work out.

Don't fix what isn't broke! If the Pegasus was working for you, I suggest finding another pair and trying them on a longer run. I was also told I needed shoes with more padding when I increased my mileage only to buy some shoes with more padding and end up with hip issues because the shoes with more padding were heavier…

100% agree. I think because my main focus before was getting to a half marathon distance I was taking things extra slow to avoid injury. At 8-10 I can hold a cconversation when it is just a mile. I will try to stick to a 10-13 when I start increasing the weekly mileage. And then when I get to 5 miles a day, I will start…

I feel this weird spiritual pull to run daily. I can't explain it. I just feel the need to do it. I am very in tune with my body and will not continue anything that leads to injury. My health is more important than my wants :). I have been running for a year and while that isn't a long time, I have learned a lot about how…

I will check it out when I get home! Thank you!

The weird thing is that my pace was really slow before I ran my personal half marathon. I was running between 11-15 minute miles. Now I am averaging 8-10 minute miles even on the long runs I did before switching to daily runs. The daily 1 mile runs are averaging between 6:47-8:50. I am not pushing myself hard or anything.…

Right! I was all "oh it would be nice to run one day a week and then dance or bike or hike or something on the other days....." One week of trying that and now I am all "oh it would be so nice to run a mile a day and then slowly build until I am running five miles every day.....". When will I learn that running is a part…

Right?!?? Come on mfp!!! I don't wanna actually work today!! I am three days away from vacation! My brain has checked out!!
-
The difference has been amazing! I can do a short run and foam roll and stretch and be ready to run again the next day!! I have struggled with lots of injuries in my past and being able to run at all is amazing but being able to run every day?? Priceless!

That quote is great! And so true! You got this Linli! Trust your training!

Oh thank you!! I was feeling so lost without the news feed!! I haven't headed out for my run yet and am still at work. But I am hoping to do three miles tonight! This will be day four of trying running small distances every day! Just when I thought I was done with running so much after my personal half marathon about…

Peanut butter, cinnamon, banana and bacon sandwich. The bacon killed it. I had to take it off and eat it on the side. It sounded so good in theory :(

Last week I did eggs scrambled with spinach, red bell pepper, and jalapeño, bacon, cheese and butter on top of my oats. Delicious!!

Wanted to give an update. I am five days in with eating at the fitbit TDEE of 2500/day. I have waking up in the morning hungry every day which is not typical. Also thought I would mention that within the last two months I have started waking in the middle of the night at least once to urinate. Kind of tmi but it might be…

That seems like a lot of gel!! I personally like them for long runs. But I have a third of a gel after one hour of running (~5 miles) and then the other third after thirty minutes and the other third after thirty minutes, etc. I have wonky blood sugar though so I have to have something more than just water or electrolyte…

Okay so strength has been being logged in fitbit as heavy/powerlifting and I believe that to be correct as I am doing reps to failure and heavy for me and really working my tail off in there :). I go into strength training sessions with going as heavy as I can for 5 sets of 5 reps and my focus is strength gains. So that I…

Okay! So I went on my long run this morning and actually ended up completing my 2014 goal of running a personal half marathon! Completely unplanned but I did it! Woot! Anyways..... I did the math after having mapmyrun record my run today and this is what I got.... Total gain: 678 1376/13.45/5280x100=1.90 1.90 entered into…

GU gels are my go to. They are the easiest thing to get down while running. I am a mouth breather and those gu chomps about killed me lol!
