  • We can use all of our experiences to learn. If every day were good, we wouldn't understand why we do what we do.
  • I have done Insanity, and you definitely won't keep up. Do it at your own speed, stop when you have to, and jump back in as soon as you can. As Shaun says, the form is the most important thing. Don't cheat form at all! Do it as slow as you need to to keep your form. Within a week you'll already see that you can do more.…
  • I am doing the cheesy New Year's resolution thing. I'm not new here to MFP, but haven't been here for a while. Time to get back into the swing of healthy eating. I have a knee injury that prevents a lot of exercise but am managing to lose weight with only dietary changes so far. I have about 55 pounds to lose. I'm 45 and…
  • My name is Kris. I am not an alcoholic, but I do have addictions. Serious ones. And I belong to a 12 step program to help with that. My addiction is not the same as yours but I do understand the itch under your skin, crawl to get the fix, I need it NOW or I won't be able to function feeling. I remember seeing a bumpter…
  • My NSV--I got back on track today. Been reading some posts and it is motivating to me that see others acknowledge ups and downs. Been on a down for a bit. Today, I planned my food for the day and have been eating accordingly. Got a tiny bit of exercise too--got in the pool this morning and splashed around for a while.
  • I know this is a NSV post, but I am pleased that I lost 3 pounds this week in spite of a lack of exercise and going to a wedding out of town. That is the result of better eating (not clean eating--got a lot of work to do on that).
  • I'm in the same boat. I've actually lost 72 pounds, then gained and lost the same 30 pounds back and forth for the last couple years. When I am on MFP regularly, I do well. When I am not, I don't do as well after a day or two. I am at my heaviest point since I lost the 72 pounds. My pants don't fit well but I refuse to buy…
  • I am returning to MFP after a long absence and, of course, a weight gain. My name is Kris and I have four kids--two grown up stepsons, a 19 year old boy of my own, and a 6 year old girl. Just celebrated my 45th birthday a few days ago. I live on the west coast of the US. As I said, I was on MFP before, but back then I…
  • I also had good results with Estroven. Didn't help with weight loss, despite what the packaging said, but is great for mood and night sweats. I also take St. John's Wart for mood swings.
  • Had to get back on the wagon. I've been trying a few other workouts but my knees haven't allowed me to do much. So I'm back to the 30DS--no problems with the knees. D1L1 done!
  • It is nice to see someone here! I was about to leave this group and find one that is active. I have only done two days of level 1. Holy cow, not easy. My shoulders and core are easily the weakest parts of me and, of course, those are big ones for this workout. I had a tough time with the first workout because I simply did…
  • Holy cow, where did you go? :D Thank you for posting your pictures. They are very motivating.
  • Writing can be very healing, so it makes sense that you shared this. I appreciate your honesty and openness. My prayers are with you.
  • I am 44 and have his, hers, and ours children. My son from my first marriage is 18 and on his own. My daughter from my second marriage is 5, almost 6. I have been on MFP before under another user name. I completely went off the wagon and gained 13 pounds. I am so close to 200 pounds again and that scared me, so here I am…
