welcome! I'm a teacher, I can relate to the stress. Don't get me started on the teacher lounge treats. It's always somebody's birthday. You got this!

Since this is about accountability, I have to tell on myself. I've been very good about logging accurately, allowing little treats here and there but logging them and not going over board. Until last night. My daughter's Easter basket. She's 2, she won't eat that Lindt chocolate rabbit right? No nutritional info but there…

Welcome! As someone who has fallen off the dieting wagon multiple times, it's never too late to get a fresh start! MFP helps me be conscious of what I eat and stay accountable. I love the community here as well. You're in the right place, feel free to friend me.

@kittybenn Yes! And I know there are plenty of healthy cookie recipes out there but some classics just can't be messed with. :p

NSV= non scale victory. An accomplishment other than weight related.

This probably isn't much but I love to bake so I made shortbread cookies for the first time today. Found a recipe with nutrition facts so I could track accurately. Being that shortbread is nothing but sugar, butter and flour (not healthy at all lol) I only ate ONE. And didn't crave another even though they came out great.…

nevermind, I was able to save the image on my PC. As for not losing weight..."weight loss is not linear" is my mantra because the scale can make or break my spirit and motivation. Don't give up!
-
How do I save this image? I think its great! I'm on my phone, maybe I'll try desktop

Weight loss, the boobs offer themselves as tribute first. Every. Time. Not the double chin. Not the butt. The sweater puppies are always the first to go.

tips about accuracy: 1. Weigh and measure all food when able 2. foods in the tracker that have a green badge with a check mark on it mean the nutritional info has been verified=typically the most accurate 3. I use the barcode scanner on packaged food whenever possible for accurate info 4. Meals you make frequently can be…

My doctor didn't really give me any specific directions other than the first 2 days after surgery (the usual jello, soup, juice, applesauce, crackers, etc). But since life after gallbladder makes digesting fats difficult, I've just been eating low fat (healthy fats when I do eat them), high fiber, lean protein diet. I've…

double chocolate flavored fresh ground coffee from a local coffee roaster... brewed in my French press. Added almond milk and stevia. I quit alcohol (6+yrs ago), I quit cigarettes(5+yrs ago).... the coffee, you'll have to pry that from my cold dead hands.

some salad tricks: I find romaine lettuce, bought in hearts not already chopped, lasts longest in the fridge than others. For fresh baby spinach or mixed greens, once opened, i put a dry paper towel right in the bag. It absorbs the moisture and keeps the greens from getting soggy. Oil and vinegar dressing is certainly a…

Perhaps with all that caffeine you were very dehydrated? Now your body has water and fiber (veggies) which can make you bloated, only temporarily, but these things are good for you! I'm my own worst enemy, 2nd worst enemy is the scale. It helps to remember that weight loss in never linear. It will fluctuate daily but keep…

Ahhh the acronyms! What do they mean!? NEAT TDEE someone help me out.... kinda newish here

Sunday check in: SW on 4/2 = 205 CW=201.8 A little background info, I had my gallbladder out on 3/30. I'm using it as an opportunity to change my eating habits for good. Before my gallbladder was out, I was at my heaviest 208, miserable, abusing myself with food and depression. It's never too late to start over! I know…

I don't think anyone needs to be officially added. I think we just check in periodically, monthly, with the same goal in common. I already friended a few people on this, with a message saying I'm also doing the same challenge. The general idea is a common goal and to use this discussion as a means to motivate, be…

Maybe just start with measurements then? The scale can make or break my spirit, it's very mental/ emotional for me as well.

Clothing sizes are total B.S....especially women's/ladies sizes. Don't let that get you down! Keep up the good work, you got this!

Update on weight: SW 211 CW (as of 4/2) 205 (as of 4/6) 201.2 monthly goals: 5/1=200 6/1=195 7/1=190 8/1=185 GW 9/1=180!! Wouldn't that be lovely

I am looking for positive accountability as well. I'm 5'7" , 205. Just had my gallbladder out, have a 2yr old daughter, i teach full time. I've been stuck in a cycle of trying to be healthy, have a slip, get discouraged and the slip turns into months of depression/feelings of failure. My body CAN lose weight but i need…

SW=starting weight, GW=goal weight, what is CW? (Kinda new to this)

I'd like to join. I just had my gallbladder out Friday. I'm heavier than ever and miserable. I've had it, I'm fed up. I need to divorce myself from the false idea that i can't lose weight. And stop punishing myself for little slip ups by turning them into months of self loathing and abusive eating. Let's do this! SW 205 GW…

Great advice! My core strength is not very good, I have horrible posture.

Maybe I am old and no longer hip to the new lingo but...what does "bump" stand for/mean?

Thanks for the post! I just started MFP about 3-4 weeks ago and lost 9 lbs rather quickly but now I have stalled out. Of course starting out new, I went for the 2lb/week goal. But I have been thinking that the pressure is actually making my weight loss stall out. I don't really have an end goal but I would be happy with a…

I think its important to log everything that goes in your mouth. Especially drinks...this is where calories can really creep up. I also think allowing yourself ONE cheat meal a week keeps me from overindulging here and there during the week. Knowing I have one meal to be naughty keep me on track during the week, by the…

Nutella is my Achille's tendon! Are there support groups for Nutella addicts? ;-) Thanks for the recipe, can't wait to try it!
