Set goals and daily nutrition goals not the same?
My set macro/calorie goals are: 1,695 C 127g/P 170g/F 57g But when I click on "nutrition" for my daily log, it says goals are: C 175g/ P 233g/ F 78g No wonder I'm struggling! Why is it doing this?

Lose 20lbs by Dec. 1st Accountability Buddies
I started one of these challenges like a year ago....I failed miserably. But WOW, so many people kicked butt and lost 20lbs and more. It was amazing. I'm starting back after being off the diet wagon, again. But one thing I do have going for me is being STUBBORN and not giving up, so who's with me?! How does it work: Join…

Protein bar recipes
I usually buy Zone or Quest protein bars because they are low carb, high protein but they are really pricey. Anyone have good recipes for low carb, high protein bars that are tasty? TIA

Lose 20lbs by Feb 1st Accountability Buddies
I joined a similar group/ challenge before. I was more motivated than ever, had my longest streak of logging in, got pregnant, put it on hold... miscarried, been eating everything and tracking nothing ever since. Grief is a beotch but I'm no quitter. Time to get back to my lovely, supportive MFP peeps. Its 5 lbs a month,…

Island of misfit foods
Are there any foods that: - you eat as part of your diet but dont really like and wonder why you still eat it OR - used to enjoy as part of your diet but just don't like anymore, sick of? Mine is celery. The flavor is a nice addition to soups but on its own? Even peanut butter, buffalo wings/ ranch can save it. I'm…

Any tips on staying in track with a busy life?
Hello! I'm a teacher and have been on holiday break, I've been doing well following a meal plan while on break but once work starts, I fear I may fall off my plan. What are some things you do to stay on track with a meal plan/diet (other than tracking with MFP)? My challenges are definitely mornings, I can barely get my…

Caloric intake while pregnant
I am wondering what my caloric intake should be while pregnant. I asked my doctor today and the response was: don't diet, just eat healthy and watch your portions. MFP helps keep me accountable so what I eat (quality and quantity)doesn't get out of hand. I'm 200lbs and 5'7". Being overweight while pregnant isn't exactly…

Techy apps to track progress
Any other apps or programs that can help track progress (weight, measurements, etc) besides MFP that you like?

Fitbit exercise vs daily activity calories earned
I have my profile set as exercise lightly (I'm a teacher, on my feet 8 hours, up and down stairs). Most days I am between 7k and 10k steps. So my Fitbit is synced to MFP and it gives me 400-1000 extra exercise calories simply in daily steps. As of now, I don't do much extra exercise, except maybe 2 mile walk pushing a…

Perspective and my ability to mind *kitten* myself
I'm back to MFP yet again. This time I have a better mindset. I'm not gonna give up over one bad meal, or day, or bad number on the scale. I'm gonna keep on keeping on regardless. I'm gonna be proud of myself for sticking with it. HOWEVER, my mind lies to me. It tells me: I feel like I should be losing more since I've been…

What should my pounds per week weight loss be?
I'm 37, 5' 7" and 200 lbs. I'd love to lose 2 lbs per week but I'm not sure if that is reasonable for my size. Would I be more successful with 1 or 1.5 lbs per week goal? For 2lbs per week I get 1260 cals, for 1.5 lbs per week I get 1510 cals. I understand that less cals=more weight loss=success BUT in my past experience,…

MFP exercise calories earned
So I logged 120 minutes of "cleaning, light to moderate" since I spent 2 hours vacuuming, going through kids clothes/ toys, bagging up, trip to the dumpster, dusting, etc. And it gave me like 400 calories burned!? Is that even remotely accurate? Btw I'm 5'7", 201lbs, 37 years old... all of which is in MFP profile.

Is losing weight without exercise feasible?
I recently had my gallbladder out and I'm on a 3 week no strain no lifting anything heavier than 8-10lbs limit. I just got back on MFP being that I'm at my heaviest and the gallbladder was a wake up call I needed. I plan to get back to exercise eventually, I do go for walks, usually with my 2 year old daughter, but that's…

gallbladder removal and weight loss
I found out I have gallstones and will most likely need to have my gallbladder removed. I understand that a low fat diet is recommended both now, while I have gallstones and after surgery. My question is two part: 1. What is a good macronutrient ratio (carb, protein, fat) to follow for a low fat, high fiber diet? 2. If…

Widest weight change in 24 hours?
What's the biggest change in weight you've seen in a 24-48 hour period? I stepped on the scale yesterday morning (which I generally avoid because it gets in my head) and I was 10 lbs lighter than last month. Yeah! Soooo happy, I even had my husband weigh himself because I thought the scale was broken. Stepped on it…

My knees hurt when I jog!
Hello friends, I've struggled with my weight forever but now that I'm 35 what was difficult is now seeming impossible. But I refuse to give up, I'm tracking my food again to remain accountable and I've decided to become a "runner"...or someone who moves at a faster than walking speed. I always used the excuse "I'm too fat"…

Accuracy on nutrition fact of food database
Hey I'm new here but I was curious about the accuracy of the food database. I see that many foods are entered and confirmed by members. I started MFP with an app on my phone and used the barcode scanner tool (very cool!). But a couple of times when I scanned an item the wrong info came up. Examples: wrong flavor of greek…
