Congrats on your loss! So glad to hear you are feeling so great! I ride too, and know how riding breeches have to be the least flattering piece of clothing ever! Best wishes as you continue on your journey!

HI PBsMommy! Thanks for putting together the spread sheet, my starting weight is acutally 222 instead of the 212 listed on the spreadsheet. Thanks again!

Are you doing any cross-training, like cycling? If not you may want to try cross-training it will add some variety to your workouts and may help strengthen you in other ways to enhance your running ability. When I first starting exercising regularly all I did was run, I eventually added cycling and circuit training through…

SW:222 CW:212 October GW: 185 I joined MFP June 10th, and have lost 10 pounds since that date! I love this site!

Please do not find this question offensive, does the idea of metabolic damage apply to people who are obese and have say 50 plus pounds to loose? I can see where it would apply to people with less to lose. If I have 50 pounds that I need to lose, I eat 1400 a day, and burn 300-500 cals a day am I at risk for metabolic…

My recommendation is to go to a running store and get fitted for a pair of running shoes. Tell them exactly what you posted on here and they will help with finding you the right shoe. There is so much that goes into running shoes from cushioing to how your foot strikes the ground. A good shoe is an excellent investment and…

I'm struggling with the same thing. Maybe try to replace a fruit or two with veggies. Cereal has lots of sugar, even though you think FiberOne would be good for you and grapes are actually loaded with sugar. I have success when plan my meals around proteins for example, eggs for breakfast, tuna for lunch, chicken or fish…

I would always take my daughter to the school track. She would play it the "sandbox" (long jump pit) while I ran. I probably looked like an idiot but I put her in a jogging stroller until she was 5, it was the only way I could get a workout it some days.

Metformin makes me feel horrible, I had horrible stomach issues. I was also taking it for PCOS. I did lose about 7 pounds while taking it but I would credit most of that weight loss to the stomach issues. One thing that helped me with losing weight with PCOS/ thyroid issues and isulin resistance was eating a low glycemic…

I agree with the previous poster. I always tried to reserve Saturday mornings for a brick workout and would practice transitions at least 1x a week. At this distance you don't HAVE to fuel but may want to. Personally, I would eat a banana on the go between bike/ run. If you are thinking about trying GOO, then practice with…

My endocrynologist has stressed to me how difficult it is for people with underactive thyroid to loose weight. This is a huge point of stress in my life. I lost around 30 pounds and she couldn't believe I had done it on my own because it is so difficult. I would suggest trying a diet that is low in glycemic index and check…
