  • I've maintained a 35 pound weight loss for 3 years and logging is the best way for me. Like many, I have gained my usual 5 pounds over Christmas but with logging I will lose that (so easy to gain and so hard to lose). However, I log on my own excel chart using the weight watchers points as I only have to count to 26, so…
  • 1/2 cup navy beans, 1/2 tbsp chile sauce, 1/2 tsp butter, chipotle sauce, worestshire sauce, chopped tomatoes, heated in microwave on whole wheat toast (or 1/2 baked potato) -excellent source of fibre and tastes like baked beans, yummy
  • I used to wake up at 2 every night and finally I realized it was hunger that woke me as my last meal was around 5 or 5:30 - now around 8:30 I have peanut butter on whole wheat toast with 1/2 banana and sleep like a baby! It works and I have lost weight - I lost 35 pounds 2 years ago (have kept it off), and planned this…
  • I am in same boat but attended a presentation on beans - which I have avoided. since adding beans to my diet (1/2 cup of navy beans on ww toast, or 1/2 baked potato) I have lost .8 pounds in a week. So am trying to up my fibre and protein a bit, and exercise more. I think this will really help! Good luck, you have done…
  • Sometimes, it's unavoidable at times. I read recently if you are going to take a day off, eat all your "extras" before noon so am going to try that tomorrow -am treating myself to hummus and pita
  • Wendy's small chili, MacDonald's junior chicken wrap
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tsp dijon mustard, 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 tbsp maple syrup - shake well - (or 1 tbsp lemon with 1 tsp honey_ use sparingly on your dressing, say 1 to 2 teaspoons.
  • Cabbage soup (BREAKDOWN of ingredients at end - it us spicey but I love it) IF YOU MAKE IT, make it 2-3 days in advance because OMG by day 3, it is so delicious!!!! The spices have all permeated everything and I'm sad because I just finished my last bowl and have to make more!!!! SPICY Cabbage Soup 1/2 head cabbage,…
  • I have lost 35 pounds in past year, 5 more till goal. It's been slow but easy and I do watch the carbs. My biggest weaknesss was always bread, so I try to only have one whole wheat slice a day, perhaps a ww small tortilla at lunch, that kind of thing. Sweet potato at dinner. But because I do love my carbs, i never wish to…
  • hello - This is my first visit 'back' as I did weight watchers for 1 year, and lost 35 pounds (I am now 7 pounds to my goal). I found WW very good but cannot afford it. I joined WW last January and promised myself one year. THIS is a good site, one only needs to be determined i think. i am hoping to lose the next 7 pounds…
  • I feel intimidated in a gym but i do go. As I lift my 10 pound weights, I cannot help but feel a bit silly when the thin girl beside me is lifting 2-40 pound weights! Or the men who are lifting 25 pound weights. However, I know it is all in my head. They probably think it is awesome that at least ( try, at my age!
  • I find I sleep better with a small bedtime snack. A good night sleep helps me focus more the next day on healthy eating so I think, no.
  • how about this one from Les Brown: "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars."
  • I log drinks that have substantial calories like wine. Or pop. Normally all I drink is 2 cups of coffee with 2 percent milk and 1 cup of tea per day, the rest is water. Or wine which i always log. I can't be bothered logging the tea and coffee. However, now that I think about it, I could add it to my snacks which are…
  • I get fabulous aerobic workout cds free from my library. if you have access to one, check them out. Also you can always put on music and dance. Just do fun things, you deserve it and you can do it!
  • I am interested in the answer to that myself. You sound very busy and I understand the lack of time for yourself. When I was busy with 3 children (but not working full time), I did an intense aerobics program 3 times a week and did not count calories. I found I did eat a bit less just from being more aware and i dropped…
  • 1/2 english muffin toasted, 1 oz cheddar cheese melted with one tablespoon milk. spread half of this on english muffin. On top of that add a poached egg and on top of that the rest of the melted cheese. Tastes a lot like eggs benedict. I got this recipe from an old weight watchers cookbook.
  • I know for myself, I can eat the right amount of calories but not lose. For me, it all comes down to excercise and moving. I gained all my weight back this winter and am now doing more exercise. this happens every spring, not that it is spring yet but the days are getting longer. I hope to keep my motivation for more…
  • One pound a week is great but -not so for me. I estimate 6 months and 13 pounds. I'm pleased, and hope in the next 6 months I manage to lose at least 6!
  • Oh how well I know this! Being short and just doing 1200 calories for me seems to be maintenance = BUT - exercise - that is what I lose the weight on. I can then eat up to1500 calories if I do my walking, cycling, Qi Gong and some swimming. No exercise - no weight loss. Sigh...
  • I know the feeling - I love chocolate - but years ago switched to very dark chocolate (85 % cocoa). Now, every day, I have one square of dark chocolate after dinner - this has cured any cravings I have for chocolate, not sure why but it has. I do have it every day, that may be why this works, I never feel deprived, I…
  • Good for you! Yes, do shop. Any tips for the rest of us on how you did this? I have about 8 more to go to my first goal.
  • I also weigh daily, keeps me "aware" - but only record on Fridays if a pound is lost - if I gain more than 1 pound, I'd record it - but water retention etc can cause a pound or two. Main thing is - you will lose if you use this site, I think.
  • I try to always include food I like during the day, and I eat lots of snack - very rarely feel hungry. I always have an english muffin w peanut butter, and 4 ounces of milk and half a banana about an hour before I go to bed - it's part of my daily count. Keeps me from waking up from hunger!
  • All I can say is - WOW! You have done great, love the bikini.
  • Very interesting. I am glad that as a rule, I do not eat back too many of my calories burned. I found when I did, I felt overstuffed.
  • I eat a lot of snacks but try to keep in my calorie range - I find the snacks keep me from every feeling hungry. And of course, I eat healthy snacks like real plain yogurt mixed with berries, local honey and vanilla. And a ww muffin with peanut butter and banana. My daily snacks actually total more than most of my meals.…
  • I find exercise daily really helps. Keeps me motivated and also can eat a bit more. Try to enjoy the exercise you choose as a daily one. Good luck! I try to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day - usually come in around 1300 or so. But the exercise gives me lots of extra calories that I don't use.
  • I find daily weighing for me is better but I only use one day as the "true day" - for me Fridays. Be sure to do the measurements - that's where I have seen a huge difference, even when I haven't lost a pound.
  • I think it really is "activity" and eating which is why I like this site - it tells me daily how my activities affect my weight - we all differ in bone size and have different ideal weights. Also one can be too thin - I know a few very thin people who just don't eat healthy, they starve themselves. We all have a "happy…
