Both here too - plus Caltrate and Vitamin D And when I feel a cold coming on, I take Emergen-C morning and night which is Vitamin C (obviously) plus a lot more. These are all at my primary care physician's recommendation.

It does not work with a bike. Most pedometers are set up to detect a transfer of weight from one foot to another - an "infinity" pattern. (Picture to yourself how a runner's ponytail traces a sideways figure 8 as she jogs along.) It works on a elliptical machine or stair climber, but not on a stationary bike where your…

I have the Fitbit One (I clip it to my bra) and I love it. It turns exercising into a game where I am trying to boost my activity to get to my goal of 10,000 steps per day and 15 floors (hills/stairs). I earn badges (My latest is the 747 badge - I have climbed 4000 floors since I started on May 27, 2013). I love that the…

Yes - mine says when I wake up that I have burned 423 calories at 6:30AM. Likewise, if you have a very sedentary day, it subtracts calories burned.

When I get to that place I will look at one thing I can concentrate on, so as not to get overwhelmed. You choose what will help. Try to look at this process as ADDING to your life, not subtracting. I have had good success with trying a fruit or vegetable that I have never had before. The latest are fresh pomegranates which…

Welcome back - but don't make "thigh gap" a priority. My personal opinion is that it is overrated and unhealthy. Work to have a strong body that can carry you through life!

Amen. Think of a pendulum - when you pull it one way (restrictive dieting) it is eventually going to swing to the other extreme (binging, self-sabotaging, whatever you care to call it) Better to take the "middle path" - when nothing is restricted (unless this is because of allergies) then you don't set yourself up for…
