No need to eat salads every meal, but it would be a good idea to be seen by a doctor to make sure that you are cleared for exercise, etc.

Agreed - as a parent you learn to pick your battles - you may pack the perfectly balanced snacks and lunches - all locally-sourced, organic, no artificial anything - but if that snack or lunch isn't cool or your child doesn't like it, then it doesn't get eaten. My son ate a bagel with cream cheese for lunch everyday of his…

I love Just Dance - and I just found out that you can rent Just Dance videos from Redbox! I'm excited! :-)

I have lost 31 lbs so far, mostly from walking. I started walking at the beginning of 2013, and bought a Fitbit One in May of this year, but I didn't lose any weight until I started tracking what I ate here at MFP. Now that I am stronger, I am tackling more hills, going longer distances and doing some hiking. I am getting…

My recommendation? Get some support for yourself in the form of a therapist or a support group. Any of those items are a lot to deal with, but in combination they are really tough! I have been in individual therapy for a crappy childhood and marital difficulties. I belonged to an eating disorder support group for a…

I have plantar fasciitis - walking on a treadmill has more cushioning and it is what I resort to when my PF is acting up or the weather is too yucky for walking outside. However, I do more walking outside because I will vary my route on a whim whereas I never say on the treadmill "Oh this is so nice - I want to do more!" I…

37 pounds in 24 weeks is an average of 1.541666 lbs per week - I think that is about as good as it is going to get! The only thing I can recommend is patience!

I am a fan of Emergen-C. I like the pink lemonade flavor and I have it morning and night at the first sign of cold symptoms. I usually run out of sick days and so I bought additional vacation days through work for that purpose. I have not been sick since May.

I do a lot of hiking/walking with groups on meetup.com and that's when most people are available - that's why!

I'm 5'3". Started at 213 and currently at 184.6 - looking to get to 140. :-) Feel free to add me!

This has been my experience as well. Remember, it is not just whether you eat exercise calories or not, the amount of body fat available to lose makes a difference too. I am in the Obese category of the BMI and have fat to spare. As I get closer to goal, I expect that the weight will come off more slowly.

I have, but I can't bear the thought of wolfing down food anymore because it would only remind me of all the times I shoved food in my mouth in an attempt to stop a certain feeling. I abused my body with too much food and I don't miss the stomachaches and being kept awake at night with anxiety caused by indigestion. I…

Awesome NSV! That is an awesome accomplishment and I am sure your daughter will benefit from being able to do things like this with her mom! Bravo! (Oops, maybe that little girl is your student, and not your daughter? Pardon me for making assumptions!)

www.canyoustayfordinner.com has had a series of menus because the blogger, who is maintaining a 165-lb weight loss herself, is helping her mother slim down.

Not sure - just looked at Vital Signs from my doctor's office going back to 2007 and this is the first time I have been under 200 lbs in that time.

Agreed - very inspiring!
