  • That is a really low number for carbs (like ketosis territory), and I'm not sure it's a good idea for someone who is breastfeeding to restrict their carbs to that extreme an extent.
  • I'm obsessed with Trader Joe's Champagne Pear Vinaigrette dressing. I think it's only 45 cals per serving, and it's delicious with spinach, cucumbers and feta cheese. There is a lot of sodium in it though, so if that's something you're watching, I would just stick to a controlled quantity of olive oil.
  • If you are actually hungry, it could mean you've set too aggressive of a calorie deficit for yourself. If you're trying to lose 2 lbs a week, try changing it to 1 lb per week. Sure, the weight loss will be slower, but you'll be less miserable and will have a better chance of sticking it out till the end.
  • You need to have an overall deficit of 3,500 calories per week to lose a pound. For example, if you burn 2,000 calories per day (you burn calories all day long from your body keeping itself alive, plus from activities/exercise), then you would need to eat 1,500 calories per day to reach a 3,500 calorie deficit for the week…
  • A lot of people here complain about rude and unnecessary comments, but I think this is the first time I have ever actually seen a rude and unnecessary comment. Seriously, there was no need for that.
  • I agree that she's probably "auto wiping her brain" as you say and not accounting for binge days, otherwise she would probably be hospitalized from eating that little for so long. But I don't think she meant to say 1500 judging from her initial post and follow up post.
  • I'm glad you're not listening to that advice, but according to your topic title, which indicates you are netting only 500 calories, you are still eating dangerously little. My best advice is to let go of the deadline you have set for losing weight. Just eat at a moderate deficit while getting in some exercise (including…
  • I love turkey bacon. Now I want some turkey bacon. Off to the store!
  • 10 lbs a month is highly unrealistic unless you're extremely obese. Read through the links people provided for you, set a realistic and achievable goal for yourself, and accept that you're not going to lose weight as quickly as you'd like. When I first started losing weight last June, I wanted to lose about 37 pounds. It…
  • Wait... you mean to tell me that somewhere in this world there exists Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Cream, yet I have never heard about it? How did I not know this?! And where might I ask did you buy such a tasty sounding treat?
  • I've had my Fitbit One for about two weeks now, and I love it. I live in San Francisco and do a lot of walking, and I wanted something that would account for all the steep hills I climb every day. It's only meant to account for step-based activities though, so any non-step based activities need to be recorded manually.…
  • Hey, you may have taken the scenic route to get there, but it sounds like you know more about conversions than the average person!
  • Reported. You can't advertise here. Plus, I call BS on pretty much everything you've said.
  • Are you tracking your calories? Shakeology is just a (really expensive) nutritional shake. It will not make you lose weight. You need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, which you can do by tracking your calorie intake. Since it sounds like your goal is really to lose body fat, you should eat at a slight calorie…
  • And I've never heard of scraping off skin with steel wool. That sounds painful. Why not just use a loofah to exfoliate?
  • With the amount of weight you've lost, it's natural to experience some loose skin. You're young, so there's a good chance that it'll tighten up over time. Stay hydrated, moisturize, and keep doing your heavy lifting routine. All of those things should help.
  • Congratulations to you for losing that much weight. You look fantastic! I clicked to your video because I was curious. It seems to be just a six and a half minute long commercial trying to get people to hire you as a health coach. Please don't advertise your business in the MFP forums. Not only is it against the rules,…
  • This place near my office makes fruit salad with fresh mint leaves and some lemon juice. Every time we have it catered for guests, they rave about it.
  • I just took a glance through your food diary, and for the days when you've logged food, you're eating fewer than 800 calories. I think I saw one day where you logged only 300 calories. Unless you just aren't logging everything you eat, you need to up your calories. Your goal is 1350. Start trying to hit that every day…
  • I was thinking the same thing. I doubt the amount of food listed even brought you up to your maintenance calories. I think you may need to take a step back and reevaluate your goals so you don't make yourself crazy and/or sick.
  • I missed the part where you said you're exhausted. You might want to dial back some of the exercise, just so you don't burn out.
  • Hey, Los Gatos! Lovely town. First, five pounds in eight weeks is great! There's nothing wrong with that. It sounds like you are doing the right things. As far as I can tell you are weighing your food and accounting for your calories as best as you can. You don't seem to be tracking sodium in your diary so this is just a…
  • The good news is you have plenty of time to achieve your goals in a healthy way before your trip. The bad news is that under eating is not the reason why you have had trouble losing weight in the past. Under eating won't make you not lose weight. More likely, you were eating more calories than you realized. My tip would be…
  • This may seem a little silly, but you might want to consider getting a spray tan. My legs always look a little leaner when I put some sunless tanner on them. Just try not to go overboard, or you'll end up looking like a cast member from the Jersey Shore
  • What is "too thin" really depends on a person's height, body composition and body frame. But I do agree with you that 7-8 stone (98-112 lbs) sounds really low for someone who is 5'9.
  • It sounds like you went about weight loss the right way and that you have a healthy body image minus your mom's nagging. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to make your mom's struggles into your struggles. If it helps at all, I doubt that your mom believes that you're "not thin enough." She's just projecting…
  • I haven't used a food scale at all either. It hasn't really been a problem for me until now, but I doubt I'll buy a food scale at this point. I'm only looking to lose about five more pounds and I really don't care how slowly it comes off. Intuitive eating can be a big problem though for people who really have no idea how…
  • That would completely depend on the amount of lean body mass you have. If you can provide your current weight and body fat percentage (if known), someone might be able to give you an estimate.
  • I am also 5'7". I started at just under 172 lbs, and am now almost 140 lbs. I think my current measurements are 35-28-37, but I can't remember for sure. It took me about six months to lose 30 lbs. However, I am not the most accurate logger, so it may be taking me longer than it would for others who are better about that. I…
