Looking to lose around 10-14lbs for holiday

Hey everyone,
I've just got back into using mfp, hopefully this time it will stick!
I'm a 21 year old girl from London, around 5ft 9 and 150lbs. I really want to lose around 10-14lbs, especially considering I am going on holiday this august with a big group of friends and the girls are all so slim and toned!!
I feel like it is so hard for me to lose weight, I'm not new to working out, I was exercising every day doing weights and cardio and never seemed to lose anything!!
So now I'm going to try and do this properly and have the body I want!!
I think my problem may be under eating, and this is totally down to un organization
I was thinking about doing some of jillian micheals workouts, I've heard some great reviews!
So if anyone has tips for me, please feel free to let me know!!

The good news is you have plenty of time to achieve your goals in a healthy way before your trip. The bad news is that under eating is not the reason why you have had trouble losing weight in the past. Under eating won't make you not lose weight. More likely, you were eating more calories than you realized.
My tip would be to set up a realistic goal for yourself (1 lb per week goal might be OK for a very short amount of time, but since you don't have much to lose, 1/2 lb a week would be better for you), find out how many calories you need to eat to achieve that goal, and log those calories as accurately as possible. You might need to use a food scale. Continue with the weight training, as that will help you maintain your muscle mass while you lose weight (reducing your body fat percentage). If you focus more on reducing your body fat % rather than losing lbs, you may find that you don't need to lose as much weight as you think.0 -
Set your goal to .5 lb. per week. Log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Weigh your food.
