I just watched that video not too long ago! I liked it. I was wondering if I had my grip width right, and I was happy that I did and hadn't been wasting effort. I'm glad that stuff like this is out there, but unfortunately there is a lot of garbage out there that you have to sift through, too.

I was suspecting it might be hormonal since I'd been in a deficit for quite a while. Here's to hoping my lifts move forward!
-
It was just recommended. My squats already were down because of the impingement and Dr's orders to start from nothing and work up again. The other lifts went back 20%. Almost back up to where I was.
-
What gyms were these? Golds gym does monthly, but there are none near where I'm going.
-
I'm actually hoping to be more active  , other than not having my 3x week normal weight sessions. I'm expecting to be out and about more, but it will not be like a workout type activity.
-
I'm not entirely sure how active I'll be. I'm going to guess lightly active with some days more than others.

I'm still trying to drop fat (I've seem to hit the point where it's harder) but I'd like to maintain as much lbm as possible while doing so. I'm 5'4 and 139-140lbs. Goal weight is 125-130lbs. I could be gone anywhere from 2-4 weeks. If it was just a week, I wouldn't worry about it.
-
I've been stuck at 80lbs. I'd have one session where I can make it through all at 80lbs, and then another where I have to drop back down to 75 and can still struggle. It's frustrating.

My boobs seem to be the first to go. :grumble:

So, I've been given the go ahead to do slow progression back up on the squat weights. Yay! I also have some band exercises and stretches to do for the hip. Will have to go back in a few weeks and see what the physical therapist thinks.
-
I'm finding it hard to believe some of you can't pick up 5lbs or 8lbs. Do you not carry in groceries? What about a gallon of milk?
-
I got the go ahead to start squatting weightless today, and if I can do that without pain, then start with the bar weight. It's better than nothing! Deadlifts do not seem to bother the area so much. I'm guessing it's because the hips are kept higher up , where as in a squat you are going pretty low and putting more stress…
-
Awesome! I wish I lived closer. I could totally use the services of a trainer and this area seems devoid of ones that lift.
-
I made a home made pizza(s) on a sourdough crust, and a peach pie and cinnamon rolls and some friends came over and helped me eat it. Yep, I blew my calories for the day, but boy was it tasty!
-
Because of the hip impingement, I'm forbidden from squatting (and probably deadlifting) until I get the go ahead from the physical therapist. That really cuts down my workouts.
-
I sure hope I don't need surgery! I was thinking that if and when I get the go ahead to squat again, I may go with Wendler for my next step, since it only has 1 squat day a week and the rest of the week it takes a rest.

That's a good hot tea, too!

I LOVED the Lipton Mixed Berry green tea for my iced tea when they had it. I don't think they make it anymore, because I can no longer find it, and I haven't found anything else I liked as much as that flavor. Luizianne (sp?) has a nice normal black tea for iced tea, too. For hot, I like Chai.

It's mostly aggravated when I squat low, in the front joint of my leg (where I feel it). I'm still not totally convinced, because it still could be a hip flexor issue from what I was reading, but that would take further diagnostics. I like to be active, and I love lifting and it kind of bums me out if it's something I…
-
Also wanted to say, squats aggravated it, but deadlifts never seemed to bother my hips.
-
I'm sorry, that's just how she explained it to me. My hips were x-rayed before I was seen by physical therapy. Would it not show up on that? One reason for the x-ray was to make sure there was nothing abnormal with the hips, and they were given a "good to go". ETA: She only gave me one little stretch to do, didn't tell me…
-
OK, update: Went to physical therapy today for the hip. Turns out it was something called a hip impingement. Basically, my muscles were snagged and pinched in my hip joint. She pulled it out and I'm a bit sore and can't work out my lower body until I see her next week.

Is that the sugar free kind?

Saying someone who works fast food doesn't work hard is ignorant. I worked there during college, started as a regular crew member, ended as an assistant manager (the joke was that I had a lot more responsibility, but maybe a dollar or two more in pay than the crew). The job is highly stressful for little pay and zero…
-
That was a hilarious read! Thank you for that. I was wondering, did you brew and drink some coffee? I also wanted to say, all that food looks awesome and I really miss Culver's.
-
Exactly!
-
That's funny, I see that kind of pay around here for what's considered skilled labor. It's ridiculous. I have a BS (how fitting) degree, but I'm starting to look at getting a fast food job (don't want to, but it puts some cash in pocket). I live in a black hole for jobs (here because of SO, who I am upsetting by telling…

I'd prefer a leaner man over one with a belly. Doesn't necessarily have to be a 6-pack, but lean is nice. I have a range that I prefer. I've always tried to stay somewhat healthy (with a few years of fail on that), and being with a guy that at least tries, too, would be nice.

My weight has been stalled over a month. I wasn't the best at a deficit last month, but I'm almost through a couple weeks of back to the grindstone and haven't really seen a loss. I've been bouncing around between 142-145 (I'm 5' 4" female). I'd like to get down to 125-130 and keep as much muscle as possible. I haven't…

Today was not a good lift day. I went backwards on some of my lifts. Was lifting 110 bench, no problem last week, today failed the last rep on the first set and dropped it down to 105, which felt tough. I was like  Failed last rep of second set at 115 on row. My rows are off the floor (I think they are suppose to be…
