The 50lbs I've lost since January say yes.

I started doing strong lifts 5x5 at home recently. We have a bench with squat rack, a bar (not Olympic), and 120lbs worth of weights.

They won't really affect weight loss. They are good if you want something on the go, or if you need help boosting your protein intake. But they won't "kick start" anything. If you like them, by all means drink them. But they have no magical properties.

Protein powder, chicken breasts, pork tenderloin, ground turkey. They have this awesome chicken tortilla soup that I buy often too.

I agree 100% with the OP. My biggest peeve with this debate is some people hear "moderation" or "flexible diet" or whatever you want to call it, and automatically assume that means eating nothing but cake, candy, fast food, etc. Drives me crazy. Sure, I eat some "dirty" foods. I have a chunky kit kat probably twice a week.…

I am new to heavy lifting, but right now im up to 50lbs squat (I have a bad knee so this has been slower progress), 85lbs deadlift, 60lbs bench press.

I used to be a member. The meetings can be very helpful. There was a good variety of people at the meetings: people who were brand new, people who were struggling, people with 100+ pounds to lose, people who had reached their goal and kept it off for years. My best friend lost over 50lbs with weight watchers, and has now…

$300 per month.

I messaged him awhile back to find out what he charges, and what that comes with. I couldn't believe the cost. There is no way I could pay that, especially considering it is just online and via phone/text. I still follow him on IG though, because he's very easy in the eyes! Lol

Yep, I absolutely count them.
-
I tried microwaving the cookie dough one because I heard it was so much better that way. I didn't really care for it. I prefer them right out of the package.

I feel like 2480 is high as well. I started out at 264lbs and 2000 calories.

No guilt necessary! I've lost 46lbs since the beginning of January. I have a Chunky Kit Kat 2-3 times a week. Over Easter, I had a Reese peanut butter egg before bed every single night. I stay within my calorie budget and lose consistently every week

Eating "clean" is great for health and nutrition. Making healthy choices is important! However, it has nothing to do with weight loss. Absolutely nothing. Weight loss is 100% calories in vs. calories out. Last year I decided I was sick of counting calories and decided to just eat as clean as I could. My diet was very…

This is excellent advice, I completely agree with all of it.

My diary is open to friends right now. If someone critiqued my diary because they think I was "naughty", they would be unfriended immediately. Unless someone asks, keep your thoughts on their food choices to yourself.

Ha, me too!

Unfortunately you can't spot reduce. Just eat at a deficit and lift heavy, and the fat will eventually decrease everywhere, including your arms. I'm down 45lbs and my arms are shrinking slower than everything else.
-
If you are staying the same, you are eating at maintenance level. Weigh your food, you most likely are eating more than you think.
-
It does save calories though. Maybe she wanted to treat herself but doesn't like to drink her calories? I prefer diet coke to regular so I would do the same. I rarely eat fast food, but sometimes I fit it into my day if I'm craving it.
-
Ah yes, I used this one too. "I'm big boned! I don't look nearly as heavy as I am." Yes, I am large framed, but that really doesn't make much of a difference.

I convinced myself that I was a "food addict" and a "sugar addict". That it was harder for me than "normal" people because of that. Then I realized one day that I was fat because I had absolutely no self control. That's when things finally changed for me.
-
Yes. I started with a Flex but really didn't like having something on my wrist all the time. So I switched to a One.

I have one smoothie a day, first thing in the morning. Vanilla protein powder, banana, spinach, pb2 and ice. Simple and delicious. I start work at 7am so I drink it on the way. Then I have some eggs at around 10am. I buy a big thing of the protein powder at Costco for $40, and it lasts me 2 months. You do not need to spend…

I have a Fitbit One and love it.

+1

Thanks!

How do you use it on your hair? The same way you use conditioner? Or leave it in for awhile (possibly overnight)?
-
I use mine when the weather is crappy, and when I feel like watching netflix or YouTube to pass the time while walking/running.

My favourite thing about the fitbit is you can add friends and compete in challenges.
