Greetings all! I am a new RN BSN working in med/surg with rotating shifts. My normally healthy lifestyle has been in shambles the past few months and I'm trying to learn how to continue being an avid runner and eat healthy on those long shifts! It's been 2 months since I last ran and it's been definitely taking a toll on…

I usually lift a couple days a week and on days I'm planning a lift, I don't do the full cardio. I do a warm up jog (5mins or so) or sometimes use the rowing machine and then lift. It's good to get the blood flowing before you lift!!!

I actually have one of those face masks things!!! Looks just like that, but is pink camo. (my mom won some weird giveaway online!) But I feel like I look like a total scary weirdo in it!!!! Don't have the guts to wear it out just yet, but maybe once it gets even colder out I'll be singin' a different tune! haha!

Hahaha @moya! Thanks for bringing up the breathing issues too Sabine. I really need to bring something along to cover my mouth in the beginning! These are all good tips! Where I'm at it's usually 30 or below for the winter, so I have many chilly runs ahead of me! I personally love the winter and cold runs though!!!

Wow! Thanks for the tips! I've been wearing compression tights and a cotton shirt w a fleece zip up and a headband thus far and it's been alright! Oh and gloves!!!!!! As for water, I don't bring any! But, I don't run further than like 3 miles so I can wait until I get home...
