One thing I get people I'm training is to just practice breathing. With something supporting your legs/trunk float and hold on to the side of the pool. With your face in the water, exhale and rotate to the side to inhale. You even try kicking while you practice breathing. This may be too basic for you. I've given this to…

The first day is always the hardest. Im in pretty good shape, but if I have to take 2 or more weeks off, that first time back kills me too. But the 2nd day is better, the third day even better. Don't try to do it all at once. but day by day, try a little more. Keep us updated

Squat racks are nice. But if you are just starting, Id recomment kettlebells. Goblet Squats, Figure 8s, Good Mornings. I also agree gym memberships are really getting afforable.

Go light at first. Figure 8s with a light kettlebell is an awesome cardio and abdominal workout.
