I practice Highland Games throwing for an hour today. I concentrated on light weight for distance and light hammer throw. I got just under 10,000 steps in. I ate under my calorie goal and logged my fluids. Yay! Go me!!!

Instant pot meatloaf, red potatoes and carrots. 45 minutes, one pot.

The wedding itself, including clothes and food cost under $300. It wasn't the first marriage for either of us so we wanted something simple, casual and fun for everyone. The wedding was/is not as important to us as the marriage. We were travelling to Montana for a family reunion and secretly contacted my cousin who is an…

This is the most mind blowing declaration I have ever seen in these forums. I don't know whether to admire you or feel sorry for you.

Passive aggressive posts are not helpful. It''s not about be being enough, it's about having tangible proof of the journey.

1) No. I don't worry about my weight as much as I worry about the way I look and feel. If my clothes fit well and I am able to participate in the activities I like, I am attaining my goals. I don't think it's wrong to choose a specific weight but it is nearly impossible to maintain. Weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds day…

Unstuffed Cabbage Soup - I made a trip to the organic farm stand and went with a recipe that would use the veggies available.

I guess I am confused by what you are trying to find out. Are you asking if others share your specific goal of 146 pounds or do you not have a weight goal but you are trying to find someone with that specific of a weight goal? Either way, why?

I should clarify. I just joined the challenge for accountability. I have used MFP for nearly a decade. I know how eating back calories works. I just wanted to verify that for the purposes of this challenge, eating back earned calories still counts as staying within the daily calorie amount.

I had huge success with logging food and working out regularly. I eventually got to a point where logging wasn't necessary because I stayed within a 5 pound range with exercise and eating right. Then a few years later, I injured myself and took time off from exercise but continued to eat like an athlete. Eating healthy…

I just joined because I need some personal accountability. The rule of eat no more than your allotted calories still allows for eating calories earned for exercise, correct?

Eat calorie dense foods. Avocado, whole grain breads, eggs, nuts/nut butters, red meat, salmon, full fat dairy products, whole grain pasta, brown rice...these are all examples of higher calorie foods with high nutrition. Basically, eat what you like but eat more of it or eat foods that pack higher calories per serving.

After paying my bills...I'd hire someone to do the grocery shopping and meal planning. I'd also have a good garden with fruit trees, vegetables and herbs. I would make a donation to the Spartans and Carolina Crown Drum Corps as well as Thornton Academy athletic department. Then, I would just enjoy life. If I had unlimited…

"Cycling through phases" every twelve weeks sounds more like adaptation than simply eating what you enjoy in proper amounts. You are getting woos because you are pushing broscience. People who have been here, losing weight by counting calories, have also done their research to seek out information and derive their opinions.

Many, many people here in the forums would say that CICO works as expected if food is logged correctly in MFP.

Look up Dianne Bondy!

I agree with what others have said about people being apprehensive to comment. My best friend began her weight loss journey in May of 2017. We both have seasonal camps at the same campground and see the other seasonals every summer. She lost 55 pounds in a year and was excited for people to see how far she had come when…

Do you have an instant pot? I bought one for my college student and it has been great for food prep. There are several vegetarian dishes that you can make in it then portion out.

Your pace time has many factors. Yes, carrying more weight makes it harder to run but your overall physical wellbeing is a big part of it as well. I run super S.L.O.W. I started running last October and have completed three 5ks, and a 10k. I am considered obese by BMI charts but I am doing my first half marathon in 24…

@Rougey38 I want to respond to your last post before I bow out. Noone is trying to make you feel bad or judge you. Many of us have been here for a while and successfully lost and kept weight off. If you post in a forum, we will respond and be as helpful as we can which is what we did. We are trying to help you and let you…

I have an app on my phone called Seconds Pro. I created a tabata that has the intervals preset. I named the sets so that it tells me "Run" and "Walk".

Some of the things I bring include a vegetable or fruit platter, broccoli salad, watermelon, grilled chicken, grilled vegetables (usually summer squash and zucchini tossed with a bit of olive oil and garlic powder), tossed salad, chicken sausages, hummus and pita chips, or grilled sweet potato wedges.

You have gotten some good advice here. You definitely want to walk more and start to build up the muscles in your ankles and legs so that running will be safe for you. I will add that a couch to 5k may be too agressive for you right now. There is a documentary called "From Fat to Finsh Line" on Amazon that shows a group of…

It's customary to give a source when you give a quote. Who are you quoting and is the source from a scientific study or one weight loss guru's opinion? You may be right, we all sacrificed something. I sacrifice the time I use to spend binge watching Netflix for time spent being active. I sacrifice the time I used to spend…

Hello all. I disappeared for the month of March but am back - you've been warned. March was a mess for me. I battled Plantar Fasciitis, shin splints and a sinus infection. On top of that, we had some brutal weather and I worked 17/7 storm power restoration efforts for a week. Despite all that, I completed my first live 10k…
