Internet Woo
I was on a Facebook group for the 2019 Run the Year program and someone asked advice for working out with broken ribs. Another person chimed in claiming to be a PT and told her to eat clean (specifically no sugar) and drink bone broth. What is the worst advice you have seen from individuals claiming to have a medical…

Anyone else compete in the Highland Games? All or our competitions in the NE have been cancelled this year but I just found out that I can go to a training and compete at Loon Mountain in September.

Nutrition pie in computer version
I've been on MFP for years and have never been able to find this option. On my phone, I can click the "nutrition" box at the bottom of my diary and instantly see the pie. Where do I find the pie on a laptop or computer version of MFP? There has to be a place but I just can't find it.

How do I reduce belly fat?
I've seen so many posts asking about spot reducing. Spot reducing doesn't work but bellies eventually begin to disappear. In my personal experience, this is the exact order of body fat loss. First twelve months: Boobs shrink completely until they are gym socks with tennis balls at the toe Face slims down until I look like…

Help me decide on a Costa Rican dish for Thanksgiving
My son is bringing his girlfriend home for the first time this Thanksgiving. She is Costa Rican/Cuban but her family primarily eats Costa Rican food. She has never had a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. I will make all the regular foods but wanted to surprise her with one dish from Costa Rica. Any ideas for a side…

Walking ok at a 1/2 marathon?
Once upon a time I was an athlete. 26 surgeries after an accident and not so much. I used to run and really enjoy it. I have a permanently dislocated pelvis now. That has caused balance, hip and knee problems. I can walk, quickly, forever. When I start running, I begin limping very quickly. So...my question is whether…

BJJ Newbie Question
I have a newbie question. My son in law is so excited that I am going to classes because BJJ is pretty much his life. He is sponsored by AP and is sending me some gis. I feel like if I wear them during my classes when I am literally just learning the very basics, I will look ridiculous. If and it's a big if I ever do a…

Instant Pot. Beyond eggs and yogurt.
What are your favorite meals to make in the Instant Pot? I am new to it. In fact, I have made exactly two meals - Mississippi Pot Roast and Meatloaf with sweet potatoes. Both turned out great but I am wondering what others are making besides eggs and yogurt (a quick search revealed plenty of posts about that).

Instant Pot Newbie
I just recently joined the IP train after my sister served me an amazing Mississippi Pot Roast she made in one hour. I am just learning how to use it but found that it makes good meatloaf and it's great for cooking sweet potatoes. Anyone else using one? I did a search and saw a couple posts about eggs and yogurt but…

Upcoming surgery and depending on others for food...worried
I have made great progress and am very good at planning my own meals. I have a major surgery scheduled for next month. My biggest fear is not being in control of what is provided to me for meals. I talked to my husband about it. I told him we need to plan ahead and that he has to stick to the meal plans I provide for him.…

I thought it was appropriate to share here. http://www.precisionnutrition.com/that-fit-person-whos-got-it-all-together-doesnt

Freezer Meal Make Ahead Recipes
What healthy recipes do you have that are make ahead freezer meals? They need to be easily divided into single servings, freezable and heat in the microwave. I am pretty good about making meals ahead of time, freezing them and having them available in the freezer at my office. It prevents me from running out to buy take…

MFP vs TDEE
I have been consistently losing about a pound a week since Christmas. Following a surgery, I gained weight and went above my original starting point. I started back up with MFP but didn't reset my starting weight - wish I had known that was an option but hindsight you know. In early March, I started working with a personal…

MFP Recipe Feature
This may have been answered before but I can't seem to find an answer. Is there a way to search within our personal recipes or at least sort them somehow? My recipes are in order by the last time I used them, most recent first. It's time consuming to go through 10 pages to find the one I am making for dinner.

Office Food
I am looking to stock some items in my office kitchen for quick, easy meals. It can't be perishable (or needs to last quite a while) because in a major storm event, I can be sent away for days even weeks. In addition, perishable items seem to disappear. I can bring perishables from home. We have a kitchen with a large…

Desk Treadmill that folds
I am lucky enough to work for a company that provides me with a sit down/stand up desk. My entire desk (L Shaped with over 8 feet by 2 feet of space) goes up and down so everything stays ergonomically correct. I am thinking about adding an under desk treadmill for use when I am standing. Does anyone know of a compact…
