I think I found a troll buddy! One month ago, I was barely at 100 woo's...I am now up to 205. So much woo and all because I said peanut butter is a calorie dense food.

Oh, we're using SHOUTY CAPITALS now. Cool. How convenient for you to completely ignore the fact that every day people who eat too little calories have had disastrous medical results. I guess it didn't fit your "Yeah it's so rare it makes the news when it happens." scenario so ignoring it is easier than admitting you may be…

Welcome from southern Maine.

@Silent_Soliloquy First and foremost, you're doing great! Second, that was not a friend. Friends don't do that.

Don't claim facts you no nothing about. Not every tragic story makes the headlines. My ex-husband nearly died. He was hospitalized for almost six months due to complications including heart failure and gall bladder failure directly resulting from a too low calorie diet. For the record, he had over 400 pounds to lose. This…

Ignore it completely.

I can run a 5k without stopping at a pace between 18 and 20 minutes per mile. I can run a 10k using the Galloway method with a pace of 14.5 minutes per mile. It helps me tremendously and allows me to run further, in less time, without exhaustion. It's especially effective on hilly terrain. One note: I have received…

Under cardio, there is an option for strength training. That is probably the closest activity you will find.

You didn't fall off the wagon, you hit a bump in the trail.

Log it as coffee. It counts toward your hydration but it isn't water.

If she is eating below 1200 on a regular basis, it is bad advice to tell her that it's ok. She is losing 2 pounds a week and often not hitting 1200 calories. 2 pounds is reasonable considering she has 100 pounds to lose but it is still important to get basic nutrition. If she is not feeling hungry and consistently hitting…

Why? Peanut butter has beneficial fats, protein and carbs. It is perfectly healthy as part of an overall balanced food plan.

You won't usually hear about any type of "magic" supplements from the people who have been here a while.

Go to a professional running store. They will analyze your gait and your pronation. It won't help with overuse injury but it will help with your form.

Then I am confused why you asked for tips. Would you rather have us lie to you and say, yeah dude, run like the wind...until you can't walk and end up in physical therapy to undo the damage you did to yourself? Several of the people who have responded to you in this thread started where you are and learned from experience…

I am assuming you have your step tracker connected to Fitbit. When you have the negative calories enabled, the tracker will give you negative calories if you are inactive. In the beginning of the day, I always start out in the negative then when I workout, I offset those calories and earn some extra. What do you have your…

No, it's not. It still boils down to eating less calories than you burn (assuming there is no other medical issue). We don't know her height, starting weight, or age so we don't know if 60 pounds is a reasonable weight loss goal or not. The amount of protein she is attempting to eat in a day is disproportionately high in…

This is a myth. You need to eat less calories than you burn - eat in a calorie deficit. You can eat what you like, you just need to make sure you are eating less calories than you expend. What is your height and weight? What is your goal weight?
-
Continuing to eat like an athlete after I got injured and was no longer working out. I ate more calories than I was burning - just like everyone else who gains weight.

Thank you for the tip. I haven't been doing that after my warm-ups because I have such a short workout window. I have been doing it after my runs and increasing my yoga classes but will try to make more time for rolling.

OP if you're having problems with walking 3/4 of a mile, sprinting is not the best advice. It can lead to injury then you won't be walking at all. It is good advice to be professionally fitted for shoes at a running store. If you have the wrong shoes, getting the right ones may be the answer. Assuming it isn't just the…

I think I am dealing with shin splints in my left leg. I have tried to be very careful about my build up. I took a full week off which helped but I can still feel it. I'm hoping it improves soon. My 1/2 marathon is in 9 weeks!

Let me know what you think. I love it. It’s my new favorite breakfast!

Things you need,: wool socks - a few pairs, good professionally fitted boots, moisture wicking clothing, a hat, a buff, bug spray, chap stick, sunblock, dry shampoo, baby wipes, and plan for it to be cold/wet in the upper elevations. It's better to have warm and waterproof clothing and not need it than need it and get…

This is a sweeping generalization. Someone who is obese can be healthy. Obesity and BMI are not the only measures for whether someone is healthy.
-
I don't consider what I eat to be dieting but my immediate family knows that I am trying to eat healthier - mostly because there is no soda, chips, and snack crackers in the house anymore. It isn't because I don't ever have those things but because my willpower for those is nonexistent. When we go out with others, I just…

I'm not a food snob but I am a linen snob. No scratchy, pilly, sheets for this girl.

1/2 a multigrain lite English muffin, 1/4 avocado sliced or smashed, one egg fried with Pam spray, a dash of Everything but the Bagel Seasoning. It clocks in at just under 200 calories. I find this filling and tasty. If I know I am working out or running, I double up.

Hmmm, let's see. When I weighed 160 pounds, I couldn't run a mile. I couldn't lift anything over 50 pounds. I was pre-diabetic. I had high blood pressure. I had chronic migraines. I now hover in the 195-205 range and I can run 6 miles and increasing. My blood pressure is the lowest it has been in 20 years. I am no longer…

It was so icy! Twice I just about went down but caught myself. I’ll be so glad when the snow is gone. We don’t have many sidewalks and the ones we do have are skating rinks so all running is on the road with snow banks. Luckily it’s not tourist season so traffic isn’t bumper to bumper.
