Because the study doesn't take into consideration whether individuals are getting their fatty acid consumption from other sources besides milk.

I reassess my calories with every ten pounds of loss.

It's interesting that the article doesn't provide a link to the actual scientific study. My initial thoughts would be that people in the study who were using artificial sweeteners were not eating in a defecit which led to their weight gain.

They allow me to have sweet when I want it and still meet my weight loss goals without adverse affects. For me, the answer to your question is no. Everyone is different.

Why are you giving up on it? Has your weight progress been what you wanted it to be for the past three years? If you have been reaching your goals then there is no problem. If you haven't been reaching your goals then just adjust the amount you eat. Brown rice is filling and is a great addition to an overall healthy diet.

I started running in October. I am losing weight but it is a slow loss. I'm ok with that because my measurements have changed dramatically. Log religously and do the best you can. Start keeping track of your measurements if you don't already and take pictures. Even if the scale isn't moving, you will probably see progress.

Having lived through a house fire, leaving something with a heating element in it turned on all day while I am not home to monitor it is not something I will not chance.

Lessons learned from my first 4 mile long run which happened to be in 18 degree weather: It wouldn’t be unreasonable to strap a roll of paper towels to my back considering how much my nose ran. I may not like chapstick but I need chapstick. 3 miles is my max before I need water. Note to self, buy water bottles for my…

This is my almost one year journey.

It's impossible to know without knowing the actual recipe used to make each and the weight of the servings but I would go with the chicken schwarma. Chicken schwarma is usually grilled chicken with tons of spices on it. Gyro meat will have more fat and it will be harder to pin down extra ingredients.

Weight Watchers can work. My best friend lost 60 pounds from May 2017 to July 2018 doing nothing but counting points and walking. She has lost an additional 25 pounds since last July by counting points and adding cardio kickboxing twice a week.
-
Agreed, and it takes soooo long.

I use mine twice a week at the minimum. Once you get used to it, it will be one of your favorite kitchen tools. Food cooked in the instant pot doesn't turn out mushy like slow cooker food. Meat retains its texture while being very tender. I love that I can come home from work and have beef stew that tastes like it has been…

Two weeks is not enough time to see significant change. It takes time. As others have said, using a scale will ensure you are logging accurate calories and weight fluctuations are completely normal. If your BMR is 1465, 1700 is about what you would eat to maintain your current weight. To lose weight, you need to be eating…

It would take a bit more information to help you. What is your height and weight? Do you know what your starting measurements were compared to now? The number on the scale is just a number. If you are losing fat but gaining a bit of muscle, you might not see much movement on the scale. That doesn't mean you're not getting…

13 pounds in four weeks is extremely aggressive and should only be done under the watchful eye of a physician. 1200 is the minimum a female should eat in a day so that is a pretty low amount of calories. What is your current height, weight and age? Gender?

Some other things I do... My quick go-to when I don't have anything already prepared is an English muffin with one wedge of laughing cow cheese and some deli meat. Also, if you have a rice cooker with a brown rice or porridge function, it makes great steel cut oats. You can do it in an instant pot as well. I add some…

I make sausage and egg patties. I start by making homemade turkey Italian sausage. I usually make 4 pounds at a time because that is how much ground turkey meat I get in a package from Sam’s. I put 1.5 oz. of sausage in each whoopie pie pan well. I add a little spinach and raw peppers (or whatever vegetable I have on hand)…

@bobsburgersfan I just have to give you a shout out. Even just the tiny bit of the logo on your shirt tells me that is an MFP shirt! Greetings fellow Peaker.

I can't imagine that people who lose motivation for eating what they want, in the right amounts and counting calories would have better luck with attempting to keep track of a completely new diet every five days. This may work for you. If it does, it will be because whatever diets you follow keep you eating in a defecit…

Yes, it is similar. You can adjust the level of your workout by using water resistance barbells.
-
Yes, they do. However, it's very difficult to mimic a running gait that comes naturally to others. In fact, it can cause significant injury. Shortening stride is easier than changing gait. Slow down. When you think you can't go any slower, go slower. Run slower than you walk if you have to. One mistake I made when I first…

This is a public forum in a site where people have had tremendous success in losing weight using the site exactly as it was meant to be used. I don't think anyone insulted the OP. People with years of experience using MFP gave valuable information regarding the product. If the OP chooses to use it and has great success,…

If weight loss is your main concern, logging it daily and tracking trends is effective. A weight trend app like Happy Scale is a better source for knowing whether your weight fluctuations are really gains or trending toward a loss. I weigh myself every day and log it into Happy Scale. It also allows me to analyze the…

If I couldn't eat carbs, I would feel depressed, sad, and empty too. Are you doing keto for a specific reason or just because it seems like a good way to lose weight? You can eat the things you like and still lose weight. You just have to track your calories and ensure you eating in a defecit.

You can also cook fantastic ribs in an InstantPot. If you use the trivet in the bottom to keep the rack of ribs out of the liquid, the rendered fat ends up in the bottom instead of on the ribs. https://iwashyoudry.com/instant-pot-baby-back-pork-ribs/

P.S. I can't believe that so many of you not only notice my little post about a 5k but take the time to call me out specifically. Quick short story. Years ago I worked for a huge, national life insurance company. I took a call from one of the contact center reps who had a very strong foreign accent. She was nearly in tears…
