I'm devastated to learn that eating less and exercising more hasn't improved my health.

OWCH! Lies. Nobody likes a hook grip.

So if you're so motivated, why aren't you out doing something yourself? eta: I may have misread. You were going on your own run so you wanted her to come along? OR you were trying to get her to come so that you could go too? If it's the first, then you're gonna have to accept almost nobody is going to care about working…

If you want wine, why not....y'know...have wine? I drink a glass or two most evenings and I've lost over 30 lbs. Just fit it into your calories; there's nothing wrong with it and it won't inhibit your weight loss efforts. eta: I also love mulled wine. You can do mulled wine, regular wine, or sometimes (if I'm running low…

You may lose unevenly, but eventually things will sort themselves. Keep going.

You mean Professor Sebastian L Johnson who doesn't study breakfast at all? http://therapeuticfrontiers.com/whoarewe/prof-sebastian-l-johnston/

As a Mexican, I disapprove of this post.

We would definitely get along

I know some excellent doctors in Encinitas, but I'm not about to put someone like you in touch with them.
-
it's their job. They treat it as such. and "skipping dinner" is by no means an extreme form of dieting. I'm sure that's the only thing her publicist will let her admit.

HAH! You are forgiven, my child.
-
@The_Enginerd Yes, but you didn't say anything interesting.
-
I'm getting them too. It's you.
-
There it is! Of course, it's so obvious. I can't think why I missed it!

Wait, there's a white star? I think it blends in.....

Well, it looks like there is GPS for threads that I create-- it notifies me with a popup that someone has responded. Yay! Now I just have to be the OP of everything!
-
Exercise doesn't make you lose weight. A calorie deficit makes you lose weight.
-
Trust me, if I want a churro, I'll find my own.
-
When I said "you," I was speaking to the OP.

You can safely lose up to 1% of your body weight per week, assuming your protein is adequate for your needs.
-
Srs.
-
People who believe they can gain muscle on a deficit (exception for the morbidly obese, who actually can, though studies show the muscle they gain is not appreciable) usually believe it because they see muscles popping. That's not new muscle. The deficit is helping them lose the fat over their existing muscle, and that's…

You have issues sticking with something 5 or more days per week, so I'm not sure what the problem is. 5x5 is designed to be done 3 days a week.
-
ORLY. Can I borrow that thar crystal ball?
-
I don't suggest Jamie Eason's program without a baseline of total body strength. I suggest maintenance and StrongLifts 5x5, then reevaluate after the 12 week program is over.
-
This, though I suggest you reverse diet up to maintenance for a few months first to make a smoother transition into your bulk and give you a stable baseline for maintenance calories. You can get noob gains even in a deficit, but that relates to strength gains more than hypertrophy
-
Whichever one you are most consistent with.

I should hope so, I've been doing it for about 20 years.
