  • 1pound is one pound whether it is muscle or fat. Muscle is more dense than fat so your body may change shape but the myth that muscle weighs more than fat is untrue. I would look at your intake versus the amount of calories you are burning. You may have your body in starvation mode where it is holding onto every calorie…
  • Right there with you. I do really good for about 3 months then something happens that throws me off track for a few days and I find it extremely difficult to start back. Trying again. Feel free to add me.
  • Currently 181. Wanting to lose 20 by christmas and 30 more by summer. Add me!
  • I would strongly suggest you go to a non-surgical weight loss doctor who will help you with those cravings. They will do a lot of labs to determine if there are any hormonal issues impacting your ability to stick to your diet or not lose weight even when you do. PCOS typically goes hand in hand with many other disorders…
  • Absolutely do not follow his advice. I certainly hope he was not serious. If he was, he should be reported to the medical board and you need to find a new doctor. Any doctor will tell you 1200 calories net per day is the lowest you should go without being under direct medical supervision.
  • How are you measuring your distance and speed? :ohwell:
  • Count me in. My goal is 60 miles for the month. I have 8 miles already done! Only 52 more to go!
  • Thanks everyone. I've tried to convince myself I am fine with where I am but enough lying to myself. I'm not fine with how I look, how I feel, or how my health is suffering. Granted most of my issues are hereditary but I'm certainly not helping. One of my best attributes is my determination and strength so when I decide to…
  • Fantastic! That is so inspirational! Keep up the good work and please keep sharing!:flowerforyou:
  • I feel the same way and it's very frustrating. My guess is you dehydrated slightly yesterday during your awesome workout causing your body to hold on to a surplus and it will gradually go away over the next few days. I weigh myself once a week which keeps my frustration level to a minimum. I feel my clothes getting looser…
  • If you have increased your fluid intake and fiber intake, most definitely.
  • Hi! I am also from Virginia. Feel free to add me!:flowerforyou:
  • Canface, first....stop beating yourself up. I doubt there is anyone on MFP that hasn't "fallen off the wagon" and had to start over. It's frustrating, disappointing, and depressing but it's a fact of the battle of the bulge. You know what you've done wrong. You know what to do right. Take one day at a time and start back…
  • Looking to lose 55. Please add me. I could use the support as well!
  • Welcome! This is a great site for support, ideas, and compassion. Feel free to add me. I have used this site for several years off and on. I have recently experienced a major health issue that has left me with no choice but to change my diet and pretty much entire lifestyle so I plan to use MFP to assist with that. Good…
  • My Mom and Dad both had hyperthyroidism and dropped a lot of weight really fast. Lucky me, I have hypo. I know it supposedly slows your metabolism but I still think if you are creating a calorie deficit for your body's daily functions, it has to burn fat. So, that is my goal. I just expect it may take me longer.
  • Weight loss occurs when you take in less calories than you burn. It doesn't matter what time of day you take them in. If there is a deficit at the end of the day, you will lose weight.
  • Sounds like the "I fell off the wagon" story is very popular! I keep falling off, climbing back on, then rolling off again. As I've done before, though, I had to hit that point that I say "ENOUGH" and it's time to do this for me because I deserve it. That hit me last night and I am determined to be bikini ready by May of…
  • I usually take an hour on Sunday afternoon and make a pot of low calorie soup. While that is cooking, I mix up lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers; spin them really dry, and divide into 5 tupperware sandwich containers, cover with a papertowel, then lid and they keep for a week. Once the soup is done and cool, I divide it into…
  • I may be out of line but my question would be are you doing this for you or for your husband? Instead of telling you that you aren't doing enough he should be telling you how great you've done and how wonderful you look.
  • I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 4 months ago. Before the diagnosis, I honestly thought I was having a breakdown. Wild mood swings, weight was piling on, extreme fatigue, and migraines. I was glad to find out there really was a reason for the symptoms but felt like I was given a life sentence at the same time. My…
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free) 1/2 cup sour cream 1 cup Pace® Picante Sauce 2 teaspoons chili powder 2 cups chopped cooked chicken 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about 2 ounces) 6 flour tortillas (6-inch), warmed 1 small tomato, chopped (about 1/2 cup) 1…
  • Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been non-participatory. I'm trying to juggle 3 jobs and get things rolling for grad school so life is crazy to say the least. And to end my week, the flu. Hey, but at least I got some rest! And lost another pound! My starting weight was 184.5. I am now at 181. I have not measured but will try to…
  • I am in! From 2009 to 2010 I lost about 30 pounds. I have successfully gained every ounce back and then some. I hate how I feel and how I look. There are so many things in my life I have no control over at this point but my weight, I do. Today is the start of a brand new year and a brand new perspective. Let's get this…
  • Marsala is a type of wine
  • A google search says it's Ken's brand.
  • You may want to visit your doctor for a check up too. Being that fatigued isn't normal. You could have a viral infection or your thyroid could be out of whack. Wouldn't hurt just to have some blood work done. Hope you feel better soon but until you do, cut yourself some slack. Your body is obviously sending you a message…
  • Congratulations! Keep up the good work. You are doing all the right things. Definitely use the same scale in the same position wearing the same clothing (or lack of) and at the same time of day. Otherwise, the scale will disappoint you or falsely encourage you. Don't rely on the scale to tell you how well or bad you are…
