You can build muscle and lose fat at the same time. I have been strength training for almost a year now. I was under the impression that the higher intake of protein aids that process. Muscle burns fat, etc

Use Costco/sam's club and buy in bulk. I can eat for a month off the chicken, broccoli, turkey patties and turkey meatballs that I buy. Cost is around 50$.

Thank you! I eat 1/2 c (dry) of oatmeal in the morning before a workout. A quest bar after. Chicken and turkey meatballs for lunch and fish or chicken and broccoli for dinner. If I am still hungry before bed, a spoonful of peanut butter or a protein shake. (that regiment is typical, though I have kind of fallen off the…

I was 26 years old.. and I was facing diabetes and high blood pressure. I fell down a flight of stairs and completely demolished my ankle. The damage wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't as heavy as I was. I was extremely depressed and eventually I told myself to either do something about it or I will be dead in my 30s. I…

I am in my twenties (still) - I have roughly 50-70 more pounds to go but it can be done.

There is no better time to start than right now. Stick with it and you will get there.

I was teased a lot. I wouldn't say bullied because I always had the intimidation factor and sarcastic attitude so I never got into altercations. It made me turn even more into an introvert and that along with the way I personally felt about myself - gave me a very bad self conscious issue that I still battle to this day.

I get the melting away comments often since I have been working in an office for over a year now (and dropped 70lbs+ of my current loss while working there). My response is that it will keep melting away until I am where I want to be fitness-wise. People talk... that is what they do.

I am not married but it adds a different hurdle in the world of dating. I immediately offer up the fact that I don't intend on staying this same weight and that has put a damper on the 2nd date opportunity more than once; only because I have heard the whole "I like you the way you are" sort of comments and well, that tells…

Me too.

\ You said it better than I, but yes, this is correct.

It is not wrong. I know everyone "has" muscle. But the part of strength training is to build on that muscle - which helps burn fat. Do some reading. Here is a start: http://enquirer.com/editions/2003/08/11/tem_wwwtem3train11.html

Incorporate more strength training. You have to build muscle in order to burn fat. You can cardio cardio cardio all you want but if you lack muscle... it is almost void.
