  • I work in a similar field as social work, and am frequently on call 24/7. Here's what I have learned...so this is more like professional advise in regard to health as opposed to commenting on the phone issue.... I can't always be other people's savior. Sometimes, it's just going to have to wait. I have to take care of me…
  • Abs are made in the kitchen!! NOT THE GYM!! (IKR?) Like I have a squishy stomach, but my core is really very strong. I can feel my abs. The key, like others have said, is to have a lower body fat percentage. Diet is the key to that--so eat as clean as possible. Avoid processed crap and eat more protein. If your core is…
  • I've done the same thing off and on for a long time. It is so frustrating...and humiliating!! Like, I'm so ashamed of it. I totally have addict behavior (fortunately/unfortunately my only addiction is food.)
  • Hey! I got lucky!! I also have a (real) twin brother.
  • I'm with ya...I lost 10lbs, and gained it all back this year. I've lost 65 all together... but I've been plateaued for months and NOW I have adrenal fatigue and I'm realizing that my hormones are all messed up. I'm pretty much eating at maintenance until I'm better and hopefully my metabolism will kick in again. Good luck…
  • I love this recipe: http://www.health.com/health/recipe/0,,50400000122266,00.html We eat a ton of quinoa!! :)
  • I eat spinach (with onions, mushrooms, bell peppers) in my eggs everyday. For lunch I always have a mixed spinach and lettuce salad (with a mix of evoo and vinegar) along with whatever my leftovers are. For dinner I usually have another mixed spinach salad and just vinegar and salt and pepper as a side. This ensures that I…
  • I typically eat leftovers from the night before for two reasons: 1. It's easy. 2. It keeps my evening portions under control, knowing that I need the extra food for the next day. Lately I've been loving the Campbell's Bisque soups though. OMG Amazing! ETA- Always a salad of spinach and lettuce with various other veggies…
  • You lucky ducks!! I have always WANTED to be a coffee drinker, but really didn't like it (but LOVE the smell). Now I want it, but I make it pretty much like a candy bar, with half and half and sugar... In the last two years, I've discovered that my body is irritatingly sensitive to coffee. I can't have more than one cup,…

  • a lot of women crave chocolate because of the magnesium. You'd be better off taking a magnesium supplement rather than downing the chocolate. Even with the supplement, I have a stash of super dark (90% cacoa) in my freezer for emergencies.
  • Anyone ever had this?
  • I'm eating enough. You can look at my diary. I realize the naturopath doctors can be WEIRD...but regular M.D.s never have diagnosis for my issues. I pay lots of money, and they run lots of tests and...no answers...
  • Your diet sucks. Try some veggies and whole grains. Eat MUCH less sodium. Ditch the pizza and donuts. :) Maybe take one day at a time. It's hard, but you can do it.
  • I think I used 5 and 8 lbs, maybe a 10 or 12 lb Kettle bell. Some of the exercises I think the weights were too heavy, others too light.
  • This doesn't have good reviews in the app store.
  • Look at you! What a stud!! Who would have known that hottie was hiding in there?! I can tell your confidence is increased too! Good job!!
  • There's been a lot of comments referring to the rule "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Ok, so if my zipper is down, which is the "nice" thing to do... say nothing at all or tell me in a whisper? If my boyfriend is cheating on me with your best friend, which is the nice thing to do... mind…
  • I did this really well for the first four weeks. I tried to continue it into phase 2, but I struggled because at that time I had to start triathlon training. I wasn't making any gains in strength or cardio endurance, even though I was training at least 10 hours a week. I ended up stopping the training to focus on my…
  • Wow! That's tough. It sounds like she is a bit immature and selfish...but if she is having panic attacks, there are some serious issues that need to be addressed. I would definitely slow up on the relationship. If he's worth it, he will wait. Your kid should always be your priority. Get some counseling together and enjoy…
  • Rest is really important, but I tend to plan my workouts so I have two heavy days in the middle of a few medium intensity days. Since I am currently training for a triathlon, I plan swims at the beginning and end of my training week. I find that after running a long run, the next day I am not sore, but my muscles might be…
  • I did see that you could apply one fee toward the membership, so I'm thinking of doing that.

  • Well, it sounds like you are trying to change your lifestyle in one day. So you think to yourself, it is ALL or nothing... Well... this approach doesn't seem to be successful (not for you, me and many other people.) My brother went from a hard core beef loving Nebraskan to a vegetarian Oregonian hippie (no, I'm not…
  • definitely the cheerleader! My cycling instructor is so awesome, he gets in my head even when I'm swimming or running! It helps that he's hot...
  • Dogs are actually den animals, which means that they enjoy being kenneled. My Yorkie enjoys the safety of his kennel. I let him sleep with me at night, but every morning, I let him out before work, then he runs in the house and straight into his kennel without being told. I come home after work before the gym to let him…
  • I like this quick breakfast: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 8 oz water baby spinach frozen blueberries Blend together and enjoy! My daughter saw me making it and said, Ewww, you are putting lettuce in your smoothie? The next day, she said, Oh, you are putting lettuce in your smoothie? I want some!
  • Naked...of course...before the shower and after the BM....lol...gotta be as light as possible!!!
  • I took Jelly Bellys to my first half. They definitely gave me the spike I needed to finish out, plus they have way more interesting flavors than the Gu! If at all possible...POOP before you run. I was so stressed about this, and couldn't and had stomach problems after the race. My pre race brkfast was oatmeal..but I'd…
  • This is a good article, obviously very heavy on the advertisement for crossfit, but what irritates me is that it doesn't talk about nutrition at all. What you do for exercise is only like 20% of how you look. You aren't going to look toned, lean, and decrease body fat without changing what you eat. Not a very wholistic…
  • definitely! Bodybuilding.com has awesome workouts!!! I follow Jamie Eason's Live Fit trainer. It's geared toward girls, but I know that it would be just as good for guys. I work out with the men...they are learning to stay out of my way! Ha!
  • I would imagine it is easier for a single dad to date. However, as a single mom, I am going to be very judgmental about how they parent. If they only have them 4 days a month, if they are very hands off, if they have a poor relationship with the mother of their children...boom...I'm gone. A single dad might find it easier…
