I recently read an article about a study that was done at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Apparently drinking causes people to care less about their actions, but does not make them unaware of what they are doing. See the article here: http://www.sciencenewsline.com/psychology/2011090120540056.html

I had to be careful not to LOL really loud.

Awesome!! I think the greatest benefit to losing weight is the feeling of well being you have!! :)
-
I've never rinsed it, it's fine. It might depend on the brand you get though. I like mine plain, eat it like rice. I LOVE it with black beans, corn, peppers, garlic and onions.

woohoo!! Mine says 175 lbs. I weighed about 190-200 when I got it. I now weight 171. YAY!! :) The next one I get will say 145. I might just get a new license when I reach that weight, regardless if it is time or not!

I am going to echo the eating sentiments. Dump the lean cuisine!! For dinner do a grilled chicken breast or fish, rice or sweet potato and a green veggie like green beans, asparagus, spinach, etc. I would also suggest upping your cardio by 10-15%. Instead of 2 miles, do 2.25 or increase the speed or incline. Of course…

I am not a very fast runner either, but I have noticed since I have started tri training my running speed is increasing even though I don't run nearly as much as I did last year. The cycling and swimming have helped tremendously, as well as focusing on strength training. Other than that, the best way is probably to just…

I vote boy #2...because I am girl #2 (in the same position...but opposite)...lol!!

Wow, he is manipulative and controlling. GET OUT NOW!!!! Don't watch his games for him. That only encourages communication.

Ok, not to be mean, but this question is asked EVERYDAY on the forums. EVERYDAY. It's already been asked today. Use the search tool to look for other posts. Going over on protein is good. You can manually set your goals so they more accurately fit your needs. You should be eating around .5g of protein/lb of body weight…

haha, ok, that is what I do, although I'm not as fast. I usually do 1 min at 8-9 mph and then 1 min at 4 mph. I was just thinking, ummm....do I know what I am doing? Ya, I guess so.
-
So to clarify, HIIT is HIGH INTENSITY...meaning sprinting/walking, right? There should be a dramatic difference between the two intervals, correct?
-
Protein bars (Zone Perfect) are my downfall.

"I think what gets lost in the advertisements and everything that's written about weight loss is that if people would keep it simple, that everyone has that power in them. You can change your life." I like this quote from the article.

maybe since it is only one side they will give you half off the price!

I've been at this for a year now. What I have realized is that it takes practice. Eventually, the drive thru episodes are less and less frequent. Eventually, I realize that when I do hit the drive thrus, I skip the soda or I make other better choices. It gets a ton easier the more you do it and the longer you do make the…

Oh, I thought it was carbs/fat/protein
-
Use brown rice instead of white.
-
I'll have to think about this some. I'm not a perfect clean eater, I actually just recently started trying a clean diet. I try to get like 100-150g of protein a day, so I am closer to a 35/25/40 ??? I'm actually typically quite a lot under on carbs, about even on fat and way over on protein. I haven't figured out how to…

Oh ya, good point...i can probably count on one hand the number of times I went out to eat while I lived there, and those were while I was visiting London. Even when we took an overnight trip to Rome, we packed our breakfast and lunch or went to a grocery store and bought things to assemble a picnic instead of eating fast…

This. The whole argument reminds me of myself trying to reason or argue with my 5 year old. Have you ever seen someone argue with a 5 year old? It is the most ridiculous thing ever. Same with arguing with someone who is drinking a beer and making fun of someone for exercising. It's pointless and stupid. Keep up the great…

Huh? when I LIVED in Italy, I recall eating VERY little cheese. Pasta, yes, lots of pasta. Cheese...not so much. I did lose weight while I was living there too. However, my guess is because we walked absolutely EVERYWHERE.
-
ditto...take it out on potato chips. Cheese is a decent source of protein and you can definitely get it low cal and low fat. Stupid.
-
thoughts? Do it!! One of the best work outs for burning fat. Also check out tabata training. Don't know about the fasting. I eat, a lot.

As code156 said, recover at least a day after strength training but cardio is fine for everyday, as long as you rest 1-2 days a week.
-
Ah! Thanks for the link! Very good information.

Casein is a form of protein that feeds your muscles for 5 hours, as opposed to whey, which feeds your muscles for 30 minutes. Where did you hear that it was bad for you? If you are doing strength training (which you should be) then you need casein.

Hey, a snickers bar works great after running 10 miles or so... ;)

My day to day cleaning, like dishes, etc I don't count. However if I am doing hard core cleaning or a lot of shopping I will. I guess it depends on the effort I put in.
