  • Well I do explain it all to my kids and hope they won't smoke, but I see what you mean, you can't exactly shield them from all the things you might want to! But it certainly makes it more difficult for a parent to teach their kids things they shouldnt be doing when they see adults all over doing it. Personally I would be…
  • Tough one really. If they are not harmful at all to people around you then not sure why they would be banned. But as a mum, I wouldn't want people smoking fake cigarettes around my kids. I don't want them seeing adults doing it and thinking it is fine. Luckily no one in my immediate family smokes so they don't really have…
  • I went on an holistic retreat where we did a Yoga class with the guy who ran the place. It was wonderful, it was a lot more about the movement of energy, stimulating chakras and things like that. After I decided to give a Hatha Yoga class at my local gym a go, and it was absolutely rubbish. Nothing like what the guy taught…
  • I like your tips, thanks for sharing!! I think I am already doing most of this stuff so hopefully I will one day get to my goal like you too :) Good luck with your maintainance :flowerforyou:
  • To be fair you had a chainsaw in your hands.... no one is gonna come and complain to you lol.
  • I want to try it because it looks a laugh. If I can laugh and burn calories then I am happy. Although I have no co-ordination so will look a right nutcase. Hoping to go to a class next Monday or Tuesday.
  • I think it sounds fine. If you are hitting your goals then don't listen to other people. If you goal is to reduce sugar then fine, yes, some of those things are high in sugar. But otherwise just keep doing what you are doing. Sounds like a yummy day to me :)
  • I dont think cutting out a zero calorie drink will have any effect on weight loss. Unless it is the sweetness that is causing you crave and then eat other foods that put you over your calorie goal. But hey, it won't harm so good luck!
  • You look amazing, well done!
  • I don't think fresh sweat is all that stinky. If people are stinking at the gym they were probably stinky before they went in. I haven't noticed it at my gym on anyone though, but I don't really get all that close to anyone lol
  • Wow, I'd love to look like your before pic so I would find it hard to see how you could improve, but you certainly did! Look at those abs! Well done, you have obviously worked really hard. You look great :)
  • Lol, I can't even run 5k so I think you are doing awesome :) My first goal is to run a non stop 5k. I did it last year and then kind of gave up. Just work on trying to shave a tiny bit off of your time each run, even just 10 seconds and it will eventually add up.
  • Drink more water and eat low carb. But if you eat carbs on holiday you'll probably gain that back lol.
  • In the last year I have eaten KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut etc. I eat microwave meals pretty much on a daily basic. I have a take away chinese food / pizza about once a month. But I also eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, chicken, fish etc. And get plenty of exercise Personally I feel it's all about…
  • I'm 5ft 4 and wear flats pretty much all the time. I get back ache and sore feet with any heels over about 2 inch, and I'm not gonna be in pain just cos a bloke prefers me in heels. Luckily my hubby who is 6ft 3 loves the fact that I am short so has no problem with me wearing flats, he loves me whatever I wear, stumpy…
  • Just say to them you aren't "dieting", you are just focussing on health and fitness goals. No one can say that is bad for anyone!! It is so annoying. I hear people say to me "oh don't lose too much more, you don't want to be skinny". For goodness sakes I am over 200lbs and need to lose at least 40-50lbs to be anywhere near…
  • Guess it depends where your nearest neighbours are. I'm up at that time so personally it wouldn't bother me, but I live in an old terraced house so have many neighbours right besides my house and I wouldn't do that. I even make sure the kids are quiet when we leave for work at 7am as not everyone has to be up that early.
  • I lose 7.2lbs last week! Although the week before I had gained about 4lbs. I had done a very long difficult trek for charity and my muscles were so so sore, literally just hurt when I walked. I think the gain was probably water retention so the big loss was when my muscles had stopped hurting and no longer retaining water.…
  • I second this request for receipes and photos, I love a good rice dish :)
  • Hey there! I'm 32yrs old. I started at 248lbs, I have already lost some so don't still have 100lbs to lose but can relate. Feel free to add me x
  • As long as you are sticking to calories lower than your TDEE you could just eat it all day long and you would lose weight. Personally I would try and mix it with some proteins and fats to keep me feeling full for longer as although I feel full when I first eat rice, I am usually pretty hungry soon after.
  • Try adding in some resistance training or even weight lifting if you are not already. You can't spot reduce as others have said so unfortunately only lowering your overall body fat will deal with it. But you can ensure you have some nice toned arms by working that muscle below the fat for when your body fat starts dropping.
  • Yeah I would highly doubt the accuracy of the machine calorie burn. If she got a HRM it may be more accurate. But to answer your question, yes it would be healthy.... as long as she is eating enough to sustain that kind of workout.
  • I'm so totally impressed with my husbands progress so I will share his progress photos with you. He's lost about 120lbs in total. Mostly through just diet and walking and swimming. He's joined up at the gym with me so is just starting to get in to weights, I can't wait to see what weight lifting does for him!! He's…
  • Absolutely amazing!
  • I'm hoping to wear a bikini for the first time EVER in November. I'm still over 200lbs at the moment but I have promised myself I will wear one if I can shift 30lbs by then. Plus it helps we are in a villa with our own pool so only me, hubby and kids there lol. But I saw whatever you feel comfortable with. Bikini's…
  • Haha, at least I have a fair bit of time for training :) It does look so tough but also good fun which is the only reason I agreed haha.
  • I am soooo glad you said that! I was feeling a right fatso for thinking I could probably eat 8 scoops of ice cream LOL. I try to take a back seat with things like this and say "each to their own" but her kids are gonna be left without a mum (was there a mention of dad or did I miss it?). That isn't fair at all. Most mums I…
  • I don't have much advice but just want to say well done on where you have got so far and I think you look fab! If my body looks like yours when I get to 190lbs I will be a very happy bunny :)
