  • I can help. I've been following a low carb diet since 2/2011. I need to be filled in on the details, but I have the time. Send me an email. I used to have a bumper sticker on my car that read, "Low Carb Proselyte." After turning my life over to Jesus I changed it to read, "Low Carb Coach."
  • I make a warm gruel (farina like) with coconut flour, psyllum husk powder and protein powder. Yield: 1 serving Heat up 1 cup milk or milk substitute (I use Vanilla u/s almond milk) to almost boiling. While the milk is heating, mix together 1 Tbsp. coconut flour, 1 Tbsp. psyllum husk powder, and 2 Tbsp. protein powder,…
  • Whole Grain Rice is not recommended b/c rice is a starch, and even if the bran (the whole grain part) of rice is intact, you will get a rise in the blood sugar. Not as much if you were consuming white or polished rice, b/c the fiber from the bran will slow down the impact, but a rise just the same. Test yourself. Eat some…
  • I have to agree with Naners61, have an open mind, test the stuff on yourself. We're all different, even if we come from the same family. • Um, what pipe are you smoking from? Sugar, flour, banana and chocolate chips - there's nothing low carb about this recipe! I second the lowcarbdiets.about.com. and here are a few more: buttoni.wordpress.com and mariahealth.blogspot.com and LowCarbFriends.com and GinnysLowCarbKitchen.com and www.healthyIndulgences.net.…
  • I just made Peggy's French Toast (buttoni.wordpress.com) and found them very satisfying. According to the nutritional facts that I put in here, each serving is 265 cals, 22g protein and 2g net carbs. The recipe yields 2 servings. I ate them with a sugar free syrup. After 4 hours I was still unhungry.
  • Low Carb is my preferred way, I just feel better, and I've got the bloodwork to prove it. On 1-24-11 I had blood work done. Then on 4-06-11, I had bloodwork again. My total cholesterol decreased from 230 to 203, my LDL decreasedt from 158 to 126, and my HDL increased from 66 to 71. Another bonus, I lost 12 pounds. I did it…
  • How about Secrets to a Healthy Metabolism by Maria Emmerich. I just started reading it and am finding it fascinating.
