Weighing in at 235 pound I finished several 5k's last year, a Warrior Dash, and a 10K. It is possible my friends. I used the C25K app to start and just never stopped. I am currently training for a 1/2 in the fall. When I run it is slower than a herd of turtles in peanut butter but I am running. I do this for me and me…

Check out Panache and Freya, both have great encapsulating with compression which works best for me (38F). I use for running, lifting and general workouts. I would highly suggest that you go to a qualified bra fitter before you buy anything. Norsdtrom's (sp) has great ladies and look locally. Where I live there is a bra…

I am also starting Stronglifts today. I am very excited and a little scared/ nervous.

Thank you, my gym buddy and I were very confused on the lateral that should help. How much time does it take you to complete the stage 2 workouts? Right now we have about an hour but we might need to increase that.
-
Couple of questions for Stage 2. 1. Do you do each exercise 4 times like 4 sets or is it 4 weeks? I am just misreading the book I think, but could some one please clarify. 2. What is the Lateral Flexion suppose to do? I am following the instructions in the book but I am not "feeling" anything. Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately there is nothing that will make you better at working out except doing more. I freaking hate burpees, with a passion. Mainly, because I do them so badly. So I made a calendar one day and decided I would do at least 5 of the dang things everyday doe 30 days. Fast forward to today, I still hate burpees but my…

I love all types of music but during the sweat I am out ther with Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Opeth, Corrosion of COnformity, Alice in Chains, Clutch, The Gathering, Sevendust, The Sisters of Mercy, Within Temptation, Epica, and more. My DH makes me great play list for runs based on beats per minutes and it helped getting me…

Thank you for your response. I would like to hear more as you continue your journeyw it the bodymedia and your helathy revolution.

I am looking at the Body Media myself and the upcoming Amiggo (?). Does the interface with MFP work well? I was planning on continuing logging my foods into MFP while using the BM for activity and sleep tracking. Would this work?

Thanks for the input. How long have you been following the program? Are you enjoying it?

I just finished this book, and I am starting the program next week. I am very excited and looking for tips also. I have been to the group site and found loads of info there too. Goodluck with your journey.

I am in the same boat with the OP. I have read/heard both sides to the argument. My fianl decision is to do all things in moderation. I have ran a 10k race and plan on continuing with the training that required (3 runs per week from 30 minutes to 1 hour a piece) and I will starting weight training this week on top of the…

I started at 260 and a complete couch potato. I am down to 220 (this is not all shown on MFP). First I started with Zumba, then moved on to a cross training class and ended up in a bootcamp program provided by my employer. Tried swimming but it did not take. Started the Couch to 5K program in the spring finished a Warrior…

Good Luck to you. This is a great program and I encourage you to take it one workout at a time. The 30 minutes will come. I finished last month and I am heading into a 10 K race this weekend. The first time I ran for 30 minutes straight I cried like a baby. My motto is "I may be slowere than a herd of turtles running in…

Recently I've bought a couple of the panache super bra sport. There a little pricy but absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend! Great support, better shape than the shock absorber (I presume because its underwired) and so comfy I find myself wearing it day to day! [/quote] I am a 36 F and dropping now. I really like…

I started a C25K program in early spring this year. I am F 220 # 38yo with no previous running expeirnce short of being chased. The best advice I have gotten is... 1. Shoes 2. Slow down 3. See No.1 4. See No.2 5. Keep trucking. 6. Take rest days very seriously. There is pain, no doubt, but it gets better. My current week…

C25K is the way to go. I started this spring and I am working on week 8 and near the finish (I had some stuff come up but I kept trucking and fighting to finish). I use the active.com app on my android and love Johhny Dead (the zombie that chases you). Here are my tips. 1. Don't get hung up on speed. It will come. 2. Good…

I decided to get up early this morning to workout since I knew I could not work out on my lunch like normal. I finished the C25K W8D1 in style with 2.55 miles in 38 minutes. I did not feel like I was going to die and problably could have gone further if I had time. HOT DIGGITY!!! I never would have thought this could be me.
