  • I plan each week and do some prep on Sunday, like cooking chicken to add to salads or stir fires. This week I even went ahead and made a meatloaf recipe, cooked it in large muffin tins and froze them. I love having options in the freezer. Monday I usually cook a large batch of something - lately it has been the sheet pan…
  • I do this every year. This year's challenge is to complete a 1.2 mile open water swim, last year was to swim a mile in a pool without stopping. The open water part of the swim scares me...it's in a little over 3 weeks
  • I like a lot of things that have been listed here - liver, especially chicken livers, burned hot dogs and Brussel sprouts. There were a couple restaurants I went to as a kid that served chicken livers. I would order them and the waitresses would always look at my parents and make sure I really wanted that. The weird…
  • My dad was the only one in the family that liked coconut, I made him coconut cupcakes for father's day and his birthday every year. Helped with my love of baking...I could bake and have zero desire to eat the final product.
  • I agree with everyone else, if you haven't already been do a doctor, go. I dealt with hip pain for a long time, when I finally went, it was bone on bone, with lots of arthritis because of it. I ended up having a full hip replacement. I did wait a little while before doing the surgery and at that point, he told me to do…
  • Maybe you are taking what Roosh513 wrong or just the way he said it. I understand where he is coming from. People might not say anything because they don't know how you will take the comment. One of my co-workers said that to me. It was very noticeable that I had lost weight, but he didn't say anything because he didn't…
  • And I agree, the Carlton dance never gets old!!
  • I can watch re-runs of Friends all the time (it's on some channel almost all the time), but what is funny is that my friends kids that are in the ages of 13-15 are starting to watch the re-runs now and love it. I am not one that can read books over, just too many other options. I have read The Outsiders 10 times or so…
  • I will occasionally swim in the morning and do another workout in the evening, but it is rare these days. Like cwolfman13 said, training for a specific event may warrant it. When I was training for my first sprint triathlon, I did a lot of doubles. I did the specific triathlon training in the morning and strength training…
  • Well, there is excessive splashing. I do come across that, just was thinking that there will be some splashing. When I get splash from someone swimming in a different lane, it is odd :)

  • I was thinking this today as I swam. There is always some splashing.

  • Mine also gets better walks. He is pretty funny, he begs fro blueberries, strawberries and apples. He is fairly health conscience :)
  • I am one of those people that gets hungry after swimming. I do my best to control it, sometimes it wins though. It is the only workout that makes me so hungry right after I am finished and the hunger doesn't go away. Knowing this is half the battle.

  • I do 9Rounds Kickboxing. I look at it as my cardio since I hate the traditional cardio activities. I really like to hit and kick things and it has helped me get into better shape cardio wise. It does include some weights, on some days, but there are always some sort of body weight exercises with push ups and burpees, etc.…
  • No one asked me personally if I was sick, but a couple of concerned friends asked him.
  • 270# is awesome. I got up to 245#, then stopped doing them as often and I am working my way back up. Last weight was 225# so I am getting there.
  • I joined a new gym near my house initially to lose weight. I actually went in to check it out, not thinking I would actually join. The owner made me fee comfortable and it is a smaller gym so I joined. With the membership I got two free sessions with a personal trainer. The first one was just showing me how to use all the…
  • Great advice in this thread, I swim about 1500 yards in 30 minutes, but only go once a week. Would like to get a little faster. I could swim longer, just have a morning time constraint. I have an open water swim in August, so trying to get in the pool more often.
  • I have found this also. One of my co-workers said something after a while and I said "Did you just notice?" He said he had noticed, but he didn't want to offend me by saying something, especially being a man saying something to a woman. He is a very nice guy at work who would never want to offend me.
  • There is a hot tub where I swim, but hot tubs kinda gross me out (especially public) ones. I will try the hot drink for sure. Of course today I should have just stood outside for a while since it's close to 100 here.

  • I just went to web site, I could handle almost anything for three days. If it was longer, maybe not.
  • Sounds interesting, might have to look into it.
  • Oh the butterfly, I did one length a while ago and thought I was going to drown, but I did make it. It is so pretty when done well. It also makes me really hungry, it's a challenge for me to not eat more than I burn from the swimming. If I go in the evenings instead of the mornings, it doesn't cause the same hunger, but I…

  • Eggs, chicken, berries, bell peppers, onions. Those are on my list every week.

  • Go for it. I miss them, my gym had them, but they were falling apart and they got rid of them. Like ck2d said, do one then the other. You can either count reps or try and do it for 15 seconds and keep increasing. I used it as part of a tabata workout, it was definitely a nice addition.
  • I feel like my nails and my hair grow faster. I am thinking it is from a more well balanced diet.
  • Me too, I had a flat but even before I lost a lot of weight. Hip thrusts helped me more than squats.
  • I have been told to eat breakfast within a half hour to an hour of waking up, If I do that I want to eat all morning until lunch. I wake up at 6am and I don't eat breakfast until 9:30 usually. It works better for me. Then I can make it to lunch without eating everything in site.
  • I need deep fried cookie dough :)
  • I haven't done that yet, but I could see how it could happen :) The trainers can always tell when I am hungover in kickboxing though, it's not pretty, but I do feel better after the workout!
