  • Believe it or not I've had the same one and I don't know why it bothered me so much. I am certainly not starving and I'm not a little dude. Do I look like I'm dying of some terrible disease I'm pretty sure I don't .. I guess in my town men being in shape is a pretty rare thing.
  • Well dude...Im 225 and eat about that and my losses arent staggering. It actually really sucks how slow the weight is coming off. I dont think youll lose any weight at all eating 2900 calories a day. Lets be honest here...none of us got where we are because we ate "too few" calories. If youre gonna commit, then commit. To…
  • This story really reinforces my thoughts that any of us can be succeptible to gaining the weight back if we're not extremely diligent. It's never over, its a lifelong battle. Ive yo-yo'd from 155 at age 18 (starved wrestler) to 240 at 24 then back to 188 at 26 and back to 230 at 38 and many in between.
  • I can't have a cheat day. Because my cheat day turns into a cheat month. If I get used to eating little..I can eat little. If I get used to eating a lot...a can't eat little. I think you are feeling this.
  • women+weight training=win for all
  • Please be aware..babies NEED whole fat milk for their developing brains. It has the essential fatty acids. I understand you are breastfeeding (best for baby!!!) and the baby is not yet on milk but I'm going to gather YOU need to drink the whole milk too for baby. Don't let anyone tell you that whole milk is bad. Its a govt…
  • Oh, I remember the days when I was fit enough for fat people to tell me I was looking sick or too thin. *sigh*. In reality back then I still had love handles and was about 11% bodyfat. That was 12 years ago though. Maybe someday I'll get that same compliment again. I would really take it as a compliment or jealousy.…
  • I just had a partially dehydrated disc S1/L5 and it put me on my back for 2 weeks. Back injuries are such a PITA. I cant even describe the pain..at one point my wife drove me intot he hospitals ambulance entrance and they put me on morphine. REAL morphine. I was crying like a little girl it hurt so much. anyways....I just…
  • Except you lose all the fiber.
  • "Get the fuhck out of here"? Wow, you are one classy lady. Do you kiss your children with that mouth? I NEVER said ANYTHING about "sizes" I only spoke of bodyfat percentage. I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Projecting much?
  • http://sciencebasedlife.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/are-the-overweight-really-big-boned/ Interesting article about "big boned". The summary is being overweight forces your bones to grow to compensate for the weight gain, and that "big bones" are not the cause of weight gain but a mere adaptation TO the weight gain.
  • This is a lie/rationalization people tell themselves. Its nonsense. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. People will pick a number and tell themselves "this is my goal weight" which they still would be at a pretty high bodyfat percentage because they just don't want to admit how far they really have to go. Its probably some…
  • I'm going to try to be as sensitive as possible here...but what you're saying is you have 35 pounds more lean mass than the other women who weigh 135 and look healthy? .
  • I have a female friend who would be 18% BF @153lbs and she also is 5'7". Dont get hung up on the 135 number. Depends how much lean mass you have. Ultimately your goal weight would be determined by looking in the mirror and seeing if you like what you see assuming you dont have access to a bodyfat measuring tool. Women get…
  • I hear that under Obamacare BMI may be use to determine if you are obese for your rates. Love the govt.
  • Some people eat back the calories, some don't. Unless you are A: Starving or B: seeing awesome results I wouldnt eat back the calories as often they are grossly overestimated. When you exercise then you are forcing your body to actually burn fat once your glycogen levels are depleted....seems dumb to eat back that work.
  • I cannot imagine what a 5'11" full grown woman at 135lbs would look like. Her comment was not offensive at all. I'm sure she was genuinely concerned for your well being and trying to be helpful. The fact that YOU took offense to it tells me something..
  • What a response. Just admit you were wrong...WAY wrong. "Oh look at me. Instead of admitting I was wrong, I'll pretend to sound like some sort of expert and claim the test was wrong" Really dude. You couldn't just remain quiet? Or accept being wrong like a man? To sum up your response: You think the test was wrong, and the…
  • Maybe you are underestimating the differences between cardio machines. I NEVER jump on a cardio machine next to a hot girl if there are other machines available. I cant really watch your *kitten* if I'm beside you right? KIDDING. Well, sorta kidding. Anyways-I am extremely aware of my surroundings and the last thing I want…
  • I just saw the OP is only 18. This may change things a bit. My original response was to a full grown woman. I think you probably have some growing left to do.
  • From a dude's perspective that is just an excuse. A personally have never even HEARD of any man who complained that his lady was less sexy after losing weight. I have a feeling this "I dont want to lose my boobs" is just a lie people tell themselves to rationalize not losing weight. (I'm guilty of rationalizing crap too,…
  • Hi Courtney, Im 38 and my wife is 34. I used to be able to half-*kitten* watch what Id eat and lose .5 lbs a DAY. In my 30's that is no longer the case. Don't beat yourself up about it..but it gives a whole new appreciation for those in their early 20's complaining about how hard it is because we know as you get older it…
  • Why don't you try and let me know how that works out? You people believe what you want. Personally I can tell whether my energy is coming from stored glycogen or fat reserves. Glycogen=happy time. Fat reserves = shaky, tired, and miserable. Lets try a little experiment---eat your normal breakfast then go run a few miles in…
  • No way dude. 30% bodyfat he would have a HUUUGGGGEEE beer gut. Im going with 15-20% He's a dude who carries all the weight around his midsection instead of a bit more equally. Hell, I'll say 17.5%. That would put his lean weight at 141lbs. Lets see who is closest!!!
  • This "relationship" sounds about as healthy as your collective relationship with food.
  • I guess it depends on who you're doing this for. Are you doing it for YOU or for the reaction you may or may not get from other people? One of those paths has a successful future for weight loss, and one does not. From your post-it looks obvious this isnt the first time you've announced to everyone youre on a diet and then…
  • I can't believe my eyes. Meal timing absolutely matters. Your body doesnt have some magic 24 hour clock and at the end of that period does the math and says "well look, lets take the total in and the total out and decide to make fat or not" NO NO NO. It absolutely doesnt work like that. Your body works in the moment. If…
  • One thing I would recommend is stretch really well and take it easy. Listen to your body. If somethign feels OFF do NOT run through it. I did and got plantar fasciitis...which is a fancy way of saying I didnt stretch, ran in the cold, and tore my arch in my foot.
  • Water weight is usually a TEMPORARY state that resolves itself. Try eating a ton of salt on your meals and weigh yourself the next day youll be bloated up with water weight. Its not permanent lol.
