I aim for 20k a day, using a fitbit to measure. Hit it on weekdays by walking to / from work, weekends I'm often 6-8k, but as far as I'm concerned it balances out. If you're coming off illness just don't overly push yourself and feel your body as you go. Many of my aunts / uncles use fitbit too and regularly exceed 10k. ☺

I'm 22kg down, now 12 stone 4 [172lbs] which is about two thirds the way through a healthy weight, but I'm not fit at all [which is where my priority now is. Yep, I still see myself as fat. I see that I've changed and I'm better, and people notice it, but I still see myself as what I have been most of my life.

If I plateau for a week or two and I just can't budge the scales I find a day or two of eating at maintainance or over my TDEE before reverting to my target here seems to kick start my metabolism. It's probably my mind playing tricks on me. But it works for me.

So now we know where the NY08 moon pie from Mobile Alaska went then. In all seriousness, don't worry about it - probably lots of salt etc which needs to pass through the system, water retention and regardless just log and work it off. No harm no foul :)
