I just had a Quest Double Chocolate Chunk protein bar for breakfast. 160 cal, 20g protein, 16g fiber, 1g sugar. totally guilt free, and it will be awhile before I want chocolate or sweets again.

1) How much weight did you lose? I've lost 115 lbs so far... 6 lbs or so to go 2) How long did it take? Taken 10 months so far ( started July 2013) 3) What kind of exercise did you do? Indoor or Outdoor I workout mainly indoors, with cardio and weight training 6x week. I walk/run, do the elliptical and lift heavy. Hubby is…

We tried a couple of different home gyms, and found quality to be lacking. They also lacked flexibility for exercises, and I found myself wanting to use freeweights more and more. So we ditched the home gyms and bought a freemotion squat rack on sale along with Olympic bars, weight plate and a set of dumbbells. And a good…

Yep. Life happens. Last week I dropped a weight plate on my foot and shattered two toes. So no running for me for awhile. And next week, I'm traveling on business and the hotel charges $20/day for the gym :(. So it will be resistance bands and bodyweight exercises for the week. Life happens and you adapt...

I've never been skinny so I have no idea... but I can tell you that losing over 110 lbs has been a life changer for me. I got my health back, I've got energy to spare (most days) and I got to cut up my Lane Bryant card (WHOOPPEE!!) I never thought people really perceived you differently when you were overweight, because…

Tag for later. Sounds yummy!!

I'm 5'9" and the Dr. set a goal weight for me of 180 (which I hit this weekend, woo hoo!) I fit comfortably into size 10's (mostly, depending on brand...). I think I'm going to lose another 10lb, and make 170 my goal. But it's less about a number, and more about being healthy and strong.

Amazing job, and so inspiring!!! Good luck with your last pounds!!

" p.s. Heavy lifting does a lot to rev up a flagging metabolism. Too much cardio in menopausal women can be counter-productive in that it reduces muscle mass (because it is "catabolic"--that is it breaks down something in the body). In younger women, what is likely to be broken down is fat, but in older women, often what…

Making friends, even with those you seemingly have little in common with can go a long way. I try to smile and acknowledge everyone whose path I cross. Doing this, I've met professional bodybuilders, professional athletes and many stepping into a gym for the first time Ever. I try to help with the confusing new equipment…

I do Farmer's walks with a 45lb plate in each hand. I do a lap around the gym track, then switch for 2 10lb plates in each hand that I pinch grip, and do another lap. I do 2 sets of each exercise 3 times a week. My grip is much stronger!!

My husband has tested several HRMs and found the Mio to be just as accurate as an HRM using a chest strap. I love not needing the chest strap!
-
LOVE my MIO Alpha. No chest strap, Bluetooth capable, and is rechargeable . Only need to chage once a week or so too. Use it with Digifit (iCardio) on my iPhone and it works great!

^ This. And it seems I've been getting a lot of random requests these days. I used to try and deduce why they wanted to be friends, but I don't have time any more. So if there's no note, it's an automatic decline. As an aside, my profile states this...

107lb in 9 months. Adding more calories to build some muscle, so last couple of months have been slower.

I've been lifting for the last 10 mos and had purchased NROL4W to get involved in an organized strength program. However, I found the program confusing because i didn't know where to start and Stage 1 bored me to tears. My husband convinced me to try 5x5 with him 2 weeks ago, and I've had the best successes to date. My…

Tag, so I can show hubby this thread. Lots of great discussion on here

^ This... in spades. I used to be able to have several craft beers a night. Now 2 will put me under the table. And if I don't drink water along with my drinks, the next day can be brutal. I'm a cheap date now :)

Lots of great suggestions here! My favorite trick is when I'm "snacky" (not really hungry, but wanting to graze) is to drink a large glass of water. Then I busy myself for 15 minutes. If I still want a snack, I eat something. 90% of the time, the water does the trick!

^This. I'm sooo glad my gym promotes healthy, fit, toned individuals. At the same time, they also inspire and encourage those not in great shape. Yes, it's an awesome gym!!
