I sort of disagree with you, my reason for wearng my ipod when running is to distract me, the music i recently downloaded, called 'fantastic running songs' is not the sort of music i would lay on the beach listening to, but it is the right temp for my pace. To be honest, it could just as easy be a talking book!!

I had terrible knees due to shock and ainful outer edges on my feet. Just got fitted with a pair of NIKE EQUALON 4 running shoes, they are brill (for me). Go to a shop where they watch you run and check your feet and legs over.

your net calories is whats left after what youve eaten (deductions) and what youve earned (additions). I try and make sure that my net is within 10 - 15% of my calorie goal. I have failed miserably as i seem to be enjoying my jogging but dont see the point in the pain if all im going to do is put the calories back…

I started walking, when i got to the stage I was walking 3 or 4 miles, I decided to just to jog a little, then more!! I have just registered to do the Great South Run in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. It will be a massive acheivement for me. If I can be of any help let me know

DO NOT WEIGH EVERY DAY!!! Fluctuations are normal, weigh weekly, same day, same time, this will give you a more subjective indication.

I only run cos it gives me time to think. Ive found it gets easier, i used to hate it so started off walking. I am now entered into the Great South Run in October which is 10 miles, i thought it was 10k so i got a bit of a shock!! Keep up doing what you are doing, well done

Only you know what your body will tolerate. If running is what you enjoy then do the running. Its great for the ME time, when you can think all those things out! Do the DVD too if you wish but remember to keep up the calorie intake. Hope this helps

I agree, the biggest gripe I have is weightwatchers food! Lets get real, its the same food, just with the WW points on the label! Its calories, not points!

I recently saw a post on here with a link to youtube about excercise for bed. Im a truck driver so space is limited. I thought the excercises were great and could easily be done by a wheelchair user. If you have any problems finding it, send me a note and I'll find the link.
