Looks great for me, I can do them sitting on the bunk in my truck.

Heres my take on it, and it seems to work. Your body functions correctly at, lets say 1500 cals. If you want to lose weight you need to reduce that amount. If you do do 500 cals of excercise, your net calorie intake it therefore 1000. This will result in the body holding on to calories (starvation mode). A bit like you…

well done for taking the first step, thats the hardest bit. I started walking when i first started on here, nothing dramatic, just round the block to start, then a bit faster, a bit further, then I moved to jogging some of the way. your goal is realistic, which means achievable. If you want to add me as a friend and use me…

You can enter an acitivity that is not listed but you would have to know how many calories you have burned. I personally would not worry about it. I too lead a sedintary life, im a truck driver but have been able to motivate myself into getting off my seat and either walking and going for a jog. This site is great for…

Homemade vegetable soup and a good long walk, good luck

Basically your body needs a certain level of calories to perform. In my case its 1350. What i do is aim to eat within 10% of this. If I do excercise with a value of 500, i theoretically need 1850. I have been using these figures as a benchmark and to date I have lost 26LBS since february. The body is like driving a car, if…

weekly, same time, same scales. Watch the sun, can you see it moving? look at it less often, see it move!! Weighing daily is not good, peoples bodies are different throughout the course of a week.

Hi, welcome, I have been using MFP as a dietician! and along with a new found willingness to bend down to put my trainers on, I find it very useful in managing what I eat and tracking my excercise, and how in turn that affects my overall intake / output. Ive never been a fan of the atkins but then again ive never met…

Exactly, you are the only one that knows your body, MFP is only a guide, albeit a very good one. I try and keep my calories below my target (1350) and excercise as well. This generally means that I am burning more than I am eating, which is a fundamental for weight loss. If on the odd occasion I go over the 1350, I make…

I would never call my wife fat! One of the biggest motivators in dieting is the recognition you get from people around you that you are losing weight and looking 'healthier'. You shoulod also not use other management sites/methods at the same time, it will only confuse you, its a bit like using differenet scales, at…

I know ive lost weight when i stand up straight, look down, and am able to see parts of my body I couldnt see before!!! The answer to your question is yes, you are likely to be the person who sees least change because you are looking every day. The scales dont lie. Keep it up!

Excuse my ignorance but what are NSV's?

Congrats on your progress, my wife has just got back into a size 12 after a number of years. Us blokes dont really go for the 'drop a size' thing, Im happier in the knowledge that after a 3 mile run i can still breathe, which is a far cry from what I was like a couple of weeks ago after my first run!!!
