am i the only person who has lost weight but when they look in the mirror can't see it? i had my third baby 7months ago and have dropped from a size 18-14 in that time but when i look in the mirror all i can see is fat ugly old me. shouldn't i look different i know people have noticed but i just can't see what they are talking about. am i the only one who feels thus way? could it just because i have a chubby face (family trait) its just so depressing.

I can't see it either. People have said l have lost weight because they can see my figure shape (hourglass) much clearer whereas before they couldn't - we see things in different perspective though.

It's hard to see it when you look at yourself in the mirror, because you see yourself every day. That's why most people suggest taking before after pictures, when you look at your pictures where you were a size 18 and now at a 14 I'm sure you'll be able to see the huge difference.

Alot of womn are like this. Body Dismorphia. What you see in the mirror isnt the truth basically its your mind not seeing it because you WANT so badly to see different/more dramatic results. And YOU saw yourself as "fat ugly old me" for so long you need to learn to embrace the you as you change!

I loved my body even when I was 53 lbs heavier So the smaller me I just enjoy more. Its very different for alot of my friends who hated their body and dont see the changes because they want to be "perfect"

Ditto this. Take pictures and save them, you might not see the difference now but it will come! The only time I can really see the difference is when I am wearing new (smaller) clothes. If I wear anything from my fat waredrobe I still think I look the same.

NO, NO, NO, honey. You need to stop that talk. You have lost 24 lbs!!! It's gone, just because you are being a little hard on yourself and nitpicking at yourself (we all do it) does not mean that you didn't work your *kitten* off to lose it!! Don't undercut your success and hard work. And yes, @Brandnew has a good point about the clothes. Go to a store and try on some cute stuff. You don't have to buy, but you will at least see the changes in the clothing sizes. You are beautiful and you've done a fantastic job, keep it up!!

I understand exactly what you are talking about, I felt the same way when I went down 2 years ago from a size 10 to a size 3. Everyone kept telling me how skinny I was and although I knew I had lost weight and that I had gone down in size I didn't quite see what everyone else saw. I looked in the mirror and still saw cellulite and all that and I was not happy about it, but I had to stop and realize that I did look good. I actually started understanding how anorexic people feel and I had to stop feeling that way. Be proud of your accomplishments and appreciate all the comments you are given about how good you look! Congrats on your weight loss and keep up the good work!!

Remember, you see yourself everyday, so you can't always notice a change. I am getting close to 40 lbs gone, and I can't always see a difference. Some days are better than others, but everyone around me is noticing. It all depends on what I am wearing for the day. The main thing is that you are feeling good, and you are obviously losin weight because you have dropped sizes. Stay positive. You are doing a great job. Have you tried taking pictures and doing a comparison? Or taking your measurements? They always help when you are feeling down and out. Keep going, you are doing a great job.

Unfortunately we are always harder on ourselves than others are. We see "flaws" that others don't. Pictures are helpful to compare. If you don't have any from when you started, take one now so you have a comparison point when you lose more. Or take measurements. Even after I lost 60 lbs after my last child I still saw the same thing in the mirror for a long time. Every once in a while I'd walk past and see my reflection and have to do a double take. I find that looking at my reflection in a window (not a mirror) gives me a better sense of my actual size....don't ask me why.
You are doing great! Keep up the good work!!!

When I see myself in the mirror, I see a lard *kitten*; therefore, I have to use the scale to tell me when enough is enough as far as weight-loss. It's all a numbers game to me because I know that I will never see myself as perfect. In one sense, it's a good thing because it keeps me in the gym and it keeps me working out; but within the same breath, I hate it because I cannot appreciate the work that I've put into my body. I've been like this since I was a kid.

Me too. I don't see it or feel it. And exercise buddy friends that say they do I think are just telling me that to keep me on track with exercising. It is frustrating for me to be starving from counting calories and sore from exercise and not be able to SEE a difference. Scale has gone down a little but measurements haven't changed and clothes don't seem to fit any better. Guess scale has to go down MORE for me to believe in my accomplishments. I know I am my own worst critic....

and hello Rodney you should you look great!
I have the same problem though and the one thing I hate is when people go I couldn't see you at 200 pounds, I want to tell them I still do almost every time I look in the mirror, when I stand on the scale, when I look down at my stomach and legs.

I have an identical twin sister and in my head I am always thinking she's skinnier than me even though we have the same body type and we weigh the same. We're just hard on ourselves which is unfortunate.

I know ive lost weight when i stand up straight, look down, and am able to see parts of my body I couldnt see before!!! The answer to your question is yes, you are likely to be the person who sees least change because you are looking every day. The scales dont lie. Keep it up!

I can't see it when I'm wearing my regular clothes, but I can tell a difference when I'm just wearing my sports bra and workout pants. I know I'm getting smaller (went from 18/14 pants and XL/L tops to 14/12 and L/M), but I've gotten so used to being overweight in clothes that I have that image of myself stuck in my head.
