Help! I had a very bad weekend with far too much eaten and alcohol drunk. My 700+ calories blasting long run was swapped for a 20-minute jog and I haven't made it to the gym since Wednesday. My 10K training programme has been swept aside just three weeks from the finish. Half-hour power walks at lunch are all very well but they aren't going to get me to my all-too imminent goals. Just to remind myself they are:
28 May - Practice 8-mile walk for Night Hike with friends then yummy lunch
30 May - Get to under 13 stone. This is 2lbs from my lowest weekly weigh-in last week, which has upped a bit since then!
1 June - Rock shorts on my three-day seaside holiday
10 June - 15km (9 mile) Night Hike
19 June - 5km Race For Life. It's a very hilly course and I want to get in under 40 minutes.
26 June - Zest Girls' Big Adventure - there's running, cycling and kayaking plus mystery challenges. I haven't been on a real bike for five years! It took me two years to get round to pumping my tyres up!
Tonight I need to put together a proper training programme incorporating enough running, walking and cycling and actually stick to it. I also can't go over my calories three days every weekend. The odd wine and beer makes it all too easy!
Now put on your biggest boots, lace them up firmly and I''ll bend over and prepare for a good kicking.

Looks like you've kicked yourself up the bum - and if you can do that, you're doing pretty well fitness-wise!
I dont think you need anyone to tell you what to do, sounds like you've got it sorted. Just put the bad stuff behind you and get on with it!

I had a naughty weekend (and Monday night) I started Monday good, but then found some chocolate fingers (ate the WHOLE box) will power, will power, will power.... I'm not even half way yet and want to loose another stone before my holiday in August
KEEP ON IT.... when you're feeling naughty.... drink water, or get a bath works for me.0 -
Girl!!!! Put on your big girl panties (ok, sexy undies) and get back on it! I did, don't let a little set back slow you down to your goal. I know you will finish strong0

Put it behind you, whats done is done and cant be undone, so recharge and look foward. Get out there and get sweat, remember how invigorated you feel when you finish your workouts. YOU CAN DO IT!!!0

What he said - you've given yourself a good talking to already by the looks of things. You can do it girl. You always inspire me to run for longer / faster etc. So go inspire yourself!!0 -
Thanks everyone! I'll be back to post my Cunning Plan when I've formulated it. Tonight I'm going to the gym to try out some of the moves I was shown in my freebie PT session, interspersed with 10-minute dreadmill sessions.0

By knowing what you need to do... your kicking yourself up the bum!!!
Why dont you set yourself a goal... if you meet it, this weekend have that extra glass of wine... if you don't meet it - the wine stays firmly in the bottle!!!! Rewards are the way forward! I ask my girlfriend for incentives for everything (even brushing my teeth!)
And remember the best motivation is seeing that number on the scales decrease!!!
