There's no such thing as cheating. There's just choices. So if I want a snack, I choose to snack. That being said. I don't really plan meals or anything like that. But I do think about my day. Am I going out to lunch with co workers? Is there a family party? Am I doing a solid day of driving? Those kind of things will help…

Eat less. Drink lots of water. Walk a lot. Not trying to be smart *kitten*. This is basically my recipe for getting fit. I don't go to a gym. I don' t have expensive fitness machines in my home. And my wife and son still expect me to spend lots of quality time with them. 1700 calories a day net (for me and my goals) TONS…

I just had my first major binge day yesterday since starting MFP. My meals were fine, but I was snacking like crazy throughout the day. And you know what? It's fine. Life didn't end. The world didn't stop. For one day I did nothing to further the cause of my weight loss goals. Tomorrows another day. In America passing and…

I agree. It sounds like your sister is trying to set healthy boundaries where she's limiting the amount of constant worry and stress that have the potential to be a toxic part of her life. But I also think that you also have to have healthy boundaries with your sister. Part of love is acceptance. Part of having a healthy…

In the Army, you do Physical Training at 6:30 and have breakfast after.

I started running when I joined the Army in 1993. I've hated every single run since then. Every Single One.

1. Eat more. it's that simple. 2. Get your moderation problem figured out. If you're gonna make better eating a lifestyle. Discipline and moderation are also going to become lifestyle choices. Figure out why you eat so much. And overcome it.

I simply goal myself in 5 pound increments. My goal right now is to get to 170. When I get there, My next goal will be 165. Etc, etc. But what I keep saying to myself on a daily basis is "The only pound that counts is the next one.

Somewhere around 1800 to 2000 calories daily should be a good place to start
-
Congrats for getting started! Get the food thing happening along with a regular routine and you'll be on your way!!
-
If you really work out 3-5 times a week. Then I think somewhere 1800-2000 calories a day is a good place to be. http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html

I agree. Drinking water is super important. The first 3 or 4 days were hard for me but now (over a month in) I can drink water like crazy.

I'm not really hungry in the morning, so I put 200 to 300 calories in to get the engine running.

Here was my recipe for starting out: Figure out your BMR and that's your calorie goal for the day. Get one of those cheap pedometers and don't go to bed until you get in 10,000 steps.

how many calories are you taking in daily by eating? How many calories are you burning daily through exercise?
-
I think how much people think you're "obsessed" is probably pretty related to the amount you talk about diet, exercise, fitness, "your new life", etc. Try changing the subject to something you all have in common.

1. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine... 2. I hope fitness isn't your only outlet to cope. Do you have a strong family/friend support system? 3. Is counseling an option? Best wishes for your weight loss journey.

So there's 365 days in a year. And you're doing cardio 6 days a week. So 52 days a year you miss cardio you do cardio 86% of the year If you go down to 5 days a week you're about 72% of the year I see a 14% difference. I think if you have an effective enough workout routine; 5 days of focused cardio could be just as…

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step Anything worth doing is worth overdoing Pain is just weakness leaving he body Your focus determines your reality The only pound that matters is the next one

Welcome!!! You can do it!

1. I don't think his bad diet = lack of support for you. It just means that he's not on the same journey. If your definition of a good boyfriend is one that will go on this journey with you then you are with the wrong guy. 2. To heck with support. If you wanna get fit then get fit. Who gives a rip what anyone thinks or how…

First of all welcome!!! You can do this! You don't need to stinkin' gym! Get yourself one of those cheap pedometers and walk. A lot. Walk at work. Walk the mall. Do extra laps when you grocery shop. Just keep walking. Find some heavy things at home and lift them. A gallon of milk. a four year old (mine is exactly 40…
