I limit them because they do not satisfy me, so I overeat, which then makes me sluggish and bloated. It's a personal choice.

Apple and Peanut Butter "sandwich 1 apple (your preferred size and kind. I like small gala apples) Cut in circle slices from stem to bottom. There will be no core, which means more apple. Peaunut Butter (however much you want. I use 2 tbs total of Jif Whipped) Spread onto apple slices Put 2 apple/pb slices together for a…

Then, retirement party, 200ish lbs. Now, one year later, 168ish Slowly I go, and I'm okay with that.

As we say in Oklahoma, "Bless his lil pea pickin' heart." He tried. Which is easy for me to say on this side of the screen.

I've tried like might to be 5'2, but I'm really barely 5'1... SW 200, size 18 (but I sucked it up and wore a 16) CW 168, size 12 or 14 (with a belt). It depends on that muffin top. I also have a pair of stretchy Wranglers in a 10. GW 135, probably will be a 6/8, but maybe a 10 for comfort.

I beg to differ! I can see a marked difference in your face and your neck! You look fabulous!

Congrats on your marriage, as well as your lifestyle changes! My husband is the same way, and it is indeed a blessing. His compliments are more likely to be about my smile, energy, improved health, or increased happiness other than on appearances. It matters. Best wishes for continued successes!

Grain free senior kibble for my two, as the super picky 11 year old girl dog tends to have a sensitive tummy. The 12 year old boy dog doesn't care what it is, he'll eat it. He is particularly fond of green beans...raw, canned (low sodium), steamed. And worms. That he's dug from the ground himself. Whatever. ;) Nigel has…

Health is the big motivator now. Spending retirement managing health problems has zero appeal to me. I want to enjoy time with the people I love, participate in volunteering opportunities, and be active in my church. God has given me a wonderful blessing to be able to do those things, and it's my responsibility to do my…

You've already made some significant changes...good for you! Remember, you control the food; don't let food control you. (I'm a work in progress) If you have carb concerns, take charge of them like you have fast food and sugar. Changing the way you eat for a so much healthier life is worth the challenges. All the best to…

They appeared fairly recently.

Lots of "tinkling"...lots. :#

OP, I, too, was a constant eater. Low carb/high fat has been a life-saver for me. Seriously. Additionally, I now know what it feels like to "forget to eat", to not crave certain foods, and to actually be satisfied...not just "full". I don't feel like I have to have food all.the.time. It is absolutely true that you can lose…

I do. Lately, I've been getting <20g between breakfast and lunch, and it works great.

I'm low carb after trying to get down to ~20g. 50-75 seems to be my sweet range, 100 for those "if it fits my macros" moments. Certain fruits, nibbles of bread, a couple of crackers with cheese, a bite of my neighbor's fried rice, or a bit of potato are lovely to include on occasion, as well as a sweet treat beyond my…

You will enjoy the group. Everyone is so helpful and kind. I wish I'd have done low carb (I'm not keto) while teaching. But I retired, then changed my way of eating. I'm so glad to have done both. :) Best wishes to you!

Welcome to the wonderful world of low carb! You have come to the right place for help, advice, guidance...all in a kind, respectful manner. I began with my carbs higher, like 100g, and reduced them every couple of weeks until I got down 20g. My sweet spot seems to be 50ish. At that level, my cravings have been almost nil,…

"What you're doing is working. Keep doing it." That's all my doc has said. I've seen him for over 15 years, so he knows the challenges I've had losing weight.

The road to improved health is not smooth, is it? It would be nice to travel on the expressway the whole time, but sometimes we take the scenic route through the small towns that have a stop sign every couple of blocks. Occasionally, we run into detours, or we get stuck in traffic. Maybe we get all that at some point in…

Improved skin quality, fewer sweets and breads cravings, diminished hunger, disappearing candida surplus....and lots of the other stuff folks have mentioned.

You can add me, too.

Reducing one's carb intake is a personal choice, perhaps a medical necessity. If you enjoy breads, pasta, rice, sweets, etc, they fit your goals, and you are pleased with your success, then continue to enjoy them. If you choose to reduce the amount or kinds of carbs you eat, then that's okay, too. Whatever you decide…

Gosh, yes! I absolutely will not eat bread. It makes my stomach hurt.

Congrats on your tremendous success!

I feel like a winner in getting (with the doc's help) my husband to stop drinking juice at every meal. He doesn't drink soda, can't stand tea, so juice other sugar'd drinks were his thirst quenchers. Now he's drinking water with lemon. It's a start. If that doesn't help his blood numbers, he promises to change something…

What an awesome deal!

We use Aldi's flatout bread for pizza crust. Smear both sides with mushroom infused evoo, toast ever-so-lightly, and top with whatever...appropriate tomato sauce, diced bacon, chicken, broccoli, a few peppers, mushrooms, cheese, and herbs. It's pretty caloric but so very filling and delicious. One of these fixes my pizza…

I have a square of Ghiradelli (spelling) or Lindt 85%ish every night. Godiva is pretty good, too. But 85-86% is as high as I can go. Anything less, though, has no flavor now. Sometimes I go crazy and have two squares...LoL...Something I enjoy is grating the chocolate and mixing it with unsweetened coconut flakes and…
