Hi. Is there anybody here?
-
I am still here. Can anyone recommend a plank app for Android?

Purim is only one day but beer and hamentachen really add up. Pesach is a whole week so we need some good ideas.

I don't want to make light of anyone's problems but I think that after a few weeks of tracking calories, you know that yerushalmi kugel is very high in calories-per-bite and which things are lower in calories. If you make some wise decisions you can enjoy a shabbat meal without eating 1,500 calories. If the only thing that…

You can plan your menu for 3 days, pre-log in MFP, and print it so you can have a written guide for Yom Tov. Shana Tova!

Welcome to our kosher group, New Savta. Have a teaspoon of clear chicken soup before you start to make the cheese cakes and you will not be able to lick your fingers or the bowl.

You never weigh food or drink for mitzvot. All mitzva measurements are volume. Enough matza to cover the palm of your hand without fingers is easily the volume of an average 2014 olive. I am going to drink 86.4 cc of wine which is 3.0 US fluid ounces for each of the 4 cups, but I am not your rabbi (or any rabbi)

All you need to know about quinoa on Pesach http://www.torahmusings.com/2014/04/the-use-of-quinoa-on-pesach/

The OU says quinoa is not kitniyot this year. Just ask your local rabbi and see what he says.
-
Nuts are all very high in calories. The OU is giving a hechsher on quinoa this year.

Tip of the day: I just made a great salad which you can see in my diary today. Lettuce, tomato, and cucumber with sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds with homemade dressing. --> The seeds give it a crunch which makes it great instead of ordinary (and add calories). --> Diced carrot would have made it chewier and made it take…

Thank you. This is just what I needed to read today. Just went up 2.5kg in 2 weeks.

Zucchini latkes! Recipes please, so recipes, please.
-
Thank you Dad_of_3, and BUMP to get this in my topics.
-
I made the Fish Stew for Shabbos and it was a winner with the whole family.
-
I don't have a crock pot. Would these recipes work in a regular pot? Can I use butternut squash instead of pumpkin?
-
I once read an entire book about increasing the value of walking by adding weight in a backpack. That is why the IDF have soldiers walk everywhere wearing their gear.

We includes me who is going to start serious dieting and exercising on Thursday night while it is still Yom Tov in Chutz Learetz.
-
The food that you don't eat is an offering on the mizbayach.

Time to revive this old thread. I just saw the מהרש"א in סוכה דף מ"ה who says that if someone doesn't overeat (and over-drink alcohol) on Yom Tov, it is considered as though he built a מזבח and brought the food and wine as an offering. Paprikas, if you answer this it will be your 100th post.

Does anyone have a recipe for black eyed peas (רוביא)? Does anyone have a recipe for chicken stuffed with fresh dates? It was in the Mishpacha a few weeks ago.

Just testing my image posting ability. Please don't forget eiruv tavshilin.

For log in reset follow this link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/login_counter_reset_request AND DON'T FORGET EIRUV TAVSHILIN!

OK, we're going to have quinoa both nights of Rosh Hashana. Many of us have logged in for dozens of consecutive days. Are we all going to get reset to zero because we can't log in for over 72 hours? AND DON'T FORGET EIRUV TAVSHILIM!

Can you do better than this http://www.food.com/recipe/rosemary-roasted-butternut-squash-and-beets-with-garlic-476719 ?

Welcome Llama with your first post. Thank you MostlyWater with over 1000 posts. Is quinoa so much better than potatoes and rice that it really makes a difference?
-
Harumph! I'll try to stay under the limit but if I do it I want more than a "Yay". I'll PM you my address and I want a crate of beer delivered to my house. Hang on, what am I going to do with a crate of beer if I can only have 1680 calories every day?
-
I have just read this thread. It has a lot of good ideas. If I am a good boy all week long does it really matter if I am 400 calories over the top on Friday and Shabbat? If I allow myself things for Shabbat it makes it easier to be ruthless with myself the rest of the week. Any thoughts or further suggestions?

No one in this group has posted anything for 6 days! Here is the origin of the segulah to daven for shidduchim in Amuka - it is more recent than you might think. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41573792/Alfassa%20on%20Amuka.pdf That link will download a PDF to read. Isn't Dropbox wonderful? You can join with this link…
