Wraps are great if you want to feel slimmed down for an event later that day but they're not a permanent fix.

4 lbs in a month is an agressive goal? Hm no. I disagree. It's a perfectly healthy goal to have and you will not lose muscle mass if you weight train and eat the calories your body needs to function.

Actually I think you're starting out with a good mindset to be successful! Because a) the scale isn't everything and true success is measured in inches lost and how your body looks and feels. Too many of us ( I'm guilty too ) attach too much importance on the numbers on the scale to define our progress and the truth is we…

Hi! Fellow military wife here - hubby is ex infantry and a NG now. Since you say you're 7 lbs away from a healthy bmi you should aim for 1 lb a week fat loss max. Remember, you don't want to just lose the weight, you want to keep it off. Anything more a week will put your body into starvation mode, especially if you work…

Amazing how much you can change in just over half a year! You look great. I have no doubt you'll reach your ultimate goal!

You look refreshed! And the water is giving your skin a healthy glow. You look great!

Thank you! And I so relate. It's nice to compare and see the transformations on similar stats people! It gives us a ball park idea of what to expect. Good luck on your journey!

Wow! It's amazing what 10 lbs will do! I'm short too. Very inspiring loss! Go you!

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I hope this encourages others. I know I love to see progress pics and was inspired by many here who found success! I still have a lot to go, but I'm starting to feel happy about my body and how strong it's becoming.

I'm glad I was able to inspire you! Extra weight really makes us look BIG but the good thing is results can be seen faster at our height, IMO. Good luck on your journey!

I still do some cardio -about 20 minutes 5 times a week-, but weight lifting is definitely the focus!

Hi there! 5'1.5. Been on MFP for almost 3 months now and lost 10 lbs. I have 20-25 to go. I am losing mainly with strength training and some cardio. Just came out of a 3 week long plateau but lost inches and the weight is going down again. Good luck!
-
Lol! I eat bacon sometimes too.
-
Sounds great! I do about 20 minutes of cardio after my work outs too, sometimes..or between sets I'll do 5 minutes on the eliptical or treadmill hehe....I can't stand LONG cardio sessions! Unless I'm running outdoors on a not so HOT day!
-
Wow, thanks! This woman's starting point is very close to my own stats!
-
That's fine with me! I 'm thinking I maybe not eating enough and that's why I'm on a plateau...I'm just so sedentary outside of an hour at the gym 4 times a week....
-
I'll add you! I'm doing mostly strength training but I have cardio days too.

Sometimes I'll wake up at 4 to make breakfast for the hubby before he goes to work, and I don't want to eat breakfast before going back to bed, so if I feel a bit hungry I drink a pint of water with a tbsp of chia seeds. It works like magic!

Mine's open. I have high and low calorie days as long as my weekly calorie goal is reached. Seems to be working so far.

My cat rolling on my foot. My dog shadowing me everywhere I go. Sunlight in my living room in the morning. Being able to breathe. To live without pain. The smell of muffins in the oven, baking. Things we take for granted.

Bad photos making me look matronly. Painful sciatica. Feeling the strange, bothersome, feeling of my belly being in the way when I bend downward to put socks on. Just plain getting tired of being lethargic. Looking at pictures of fit women and wanting the same for myself, that I'm WORTH IT. All that and more. Just wanting…

750 calories a day is the best way to program your body to hold on to and store every little bit of food you'll put in your mouth. At first you lose weight, but then your body figures out it's not getting the nutrients it needs to function, so it'll start putting what you consume into fat storage for what it perceives to…

For the record it IS possible to build muscles on a deficit if you're strength training. Actually the fastest, biggest gains happen when you start out. for women it can be up to a lb of muscle per month, then it tapers off to 1/2 lb about. for men it's about 3 lbs a month at first. so this can look on the scale like you're…

Snake oil. I'd rather spend my money on real, wholesome, food. Beachbody coaches are the Jehovah Witnesses of the health industry. Lol knock knock! Who's there? Shakeology! Shakeology who? Shake all yar money outta yar wallet!

Welcome! You can browse successful people's open diaries for meal ideas. Keep at it, you seem to be headed in the right direction.

What KarenJanine said: water. I know it's hard but don't pay too much attention to the scale. It took me 3 weeks for my scale to gister any significant loss but I lost inches while the scale was going up and down by a couple of pounds. I'm strength training as well as doing cardio so I'm gaining muscles as I am losing fat.…

Great results! I too know what it's like to lose weight and gain it all back. Life has a tendency to get in the way sometimes. But you showed perseverance and reached (almost!) your goal! Congrats and keep at it!

Wow! I joined my gym 4 weeks ago. I have about the same stats as you and this is very inspirational! Thanks for sharing, you look great!

Hi! I'm 5'1/2 and need to lise 20-30 lbs. I lost it all before by running but gained it all back when we moved and I fell outof my habit. I decided to get back on track 3 weeks ago. I run and go to the gym for strength training now so I'm building muscles as I lose, unlike before! Add me if you'd like. I eat 1200 + all or…

Hi! I'm a bit younger (36) and am 5'1/2 at 158 right now. You can add me if you'd like. :)
